Great Video, I would be interested in a Video about Pricing. You don't have to reveal what your price is, but the concept of pricing a percentage of the used equipment is quite interesting :)

Pretty comprehensive tips and ideas gotta help someone out there. The biggest problem for many including me is just starting and giving some of these ideas a go because the results are generally very poor which makes you think why bother. The other issue is i think is social media is flooded with advertisers and guys promoting, so you have to be careful not to over promote and become an annoyance . let's face it if people liked you they can generally find you in this internet world You reach a point when you really can't be arsed doing all this promo stuff, and just rely on your website and your recommendations from previous gigs.

Do you usually have the client give you their playlist for wedding? Also do you do song requests for weddings?
@DJRickWeb7 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Tafoya I never use the word playlist at my events. Playlist just straight up is an insalt to the dj community in my eyes. I will take list of suggestions or prefered genres. I always take down all the speciality songs they want. First damce etc. I do take request, but its on a if I have it basis. Or if I have internet I will take any requests.

Wassup Rick! What do you think about burning cds with mini mixes and handing them out? Of course your contact info would be on the cd/cd sleeve. I think everybody still has a cd player in their car lol and cds are super cheap
@DJRickWeb7 жыл бұрын
+25pollo personally dont think its worth the effort when you could just make a video and have that on your website or a spotify list of the top songs played at weddings they can view. Most people dont care how well you can mix or really cant tell unless they hesr you side by side with another dj

If you're starting your own business and you can't afford a $200 annual website budget, you're in over your head.
@DJRickWeb7 жыл бұрын
+MJ if your like a 13 to 15 year old beginner doing maybe 10 to 20 gigs a year at really low payout. A website isnt worth the time and energy yet. Spend the money on building up your equipment.

Websites are fizzling out. People just don't have the courage to admit that and double down on social media like Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook. Those actually require consistent maintenance and work. Websites are great for people who are lazy.
