The cool thing is...I emailed freewell on if they would come out with a wide angle and anamorphic lenses and if they did, that because the Pocket 3 seriously overexposes the footage, that both lenses would need nd filters. Their response was to keep an eye out on their socials for any updates to products...lo and behold...they launched this kit....the macro is a cool bonus as I didn't think to ask them for that hahaha

Nice review ! The background blur with ND is indeed there but not creamy. I used OP3 during a Jazz event on a local island last week, amazing footage for the price point, small form factor and great sound. I won't bother with filters, this thing points and shoots perfectly. I have a plethora of accessories for my old OP but quickly stopped using them except maybe for mounts. Wooah diesel trains ! But of course, it's Texas after all 👍👍

The Pocket 3 is such a powerful little camera. I was mostly excited about the Anamorphic lens offered in this kit. Yes in Texas we still love our fossil fuels lol

@@WORTHITORNOT Actually, they designed the OP3 with more space when the gimbal shuts down, so I guess a wide angle lens could stay put, unlike on the first generation. However, the OP3 is more picky with memory cards, I lost a lot of shots because of a card slow warning, card that works OK in A7IV and OA4. But hey, SD storage is cheap as chips now. I'm buying a car, a coal burner 🤣 Actually it's electric but 60% of electricity is made in coal factories here, although they're greening that up as fast as possible.

Interesting about your's being picky about sd cards, I use the Sandisk U3 cards in all my action cameras and no issues (so far)

@@WORTHITORNOT I tried two Samsung EVO Pro U3 and had occasional slow card warning. Now Sandisk Extreme Pro rated 200MB/s read, actual is 170MB read, didn't test the write but it works without hiccups.

@@StirfriedGerman The only Sandisk product I have EVER had an issue with was their 2TB SSD backup drive, I lost nearly 70% of footage of a Sigma review I was supposed to do as Sigma sent me 4 lenses to test/review and then send back and when I went to open the footage files, the SSD said error, no content and I went to 2 different recovery places and they could only get roughly 30% of the footage off the drive as the rest was corrupted. Not only did it cost me a SSD drive, recovery costs but also loss of a partnership with Sigma which I regret the most.

Yes, get the creator kit as it gives you the external battery and the Mic 2 which is fantastic

The nd filter gave a nice saturation of colors. I worry about how robust the Pocket 3 as I don’t want to constantly being worried about damaging it. What’s your thoughts are about that ?

Yes ND filters can really make the colors pop. Yes you do need to be a bit more careful with the Pocket 3, but that was the same with the Osmo Pocket 1 and my Pocket 1 is still in excellent working order. If you're careful and conscience of how you handle it, it's fine honestly.

Yes as that’s the aspect ratio the Pocket 3 records in. At 15:59 I showed how to de-squeeze the footage

I love this damn camera dude. I just got the FX3 and I love that too. I was tired of all the work that goes into shooting Red. My Komodo & Dragon have much stronger colors. But these things are wild. The pocket is great to throw it on it a car rig and talk. I shoot 1.5x, and 2x on every project. It’s just my look. The only exception is my Helios 44-2 & very seldom will I use an AF lens when I absolutely need to. I always “anamorfake in post. Looking for anamorphic lenses for this little sucker is tricky. Some say they have 1.2x but they don’t look like they can stack filters. Have you used any other anamorphic options for the pocket?

No this is the only anamorphic lens that I have used, but I heard through the grapevine, that DJI is going to release an anamorphic lens for it soon. I sure hope so

@@WORTHITORNOT INTERESTING! Well, since they made the sensor, perhaps they use their black magic to give us a 1.33x or even 1.5x…. Wishful thinking… This being said, DJI moves fast. They will have a pocket 4 by the time that lens is released. Happy shooting!

Unfortunately no, K&F is the only company that has ND filters that can be left on when turning the Pocket 3 on/off.

You should get one ! Regarding a sale, they only "usually" offer a sale price when something is being discontinued and I don't see that happening with the Pocket 3 anytime soon.

It's a real shame they can't make a lens that doesn't need to be corrected in post-production I take photographs for my living and I don't use Lightroom ever on my photographs or my video as much as I'd like an anamorphic lens for my pocket 3 I couldn't be bothered to alter it afterwards which is a shame they are incapable of making a lens that works.

It has a lot more to do with sensor dimensions than the lens, a anamorphic lens gives you a wider aspect ratio but the only way to do that is to squeezing the image left/right which compresses it and it needs to be desqueezed in post. Some larger cameras can adapt the squeeze factor in camera whether it’s a 1.33, 1.8, 2.4 etc.
