Fuel line test 011 Stihl

tips on troubleshooting a saw. Correction--the saw was not "given" to me, I was just asked to fix it.

Hey brother ive got one of these 011s n was wondering if i have to run the vent line into the opposite corner or can i just put a piece of line on it with a filter? ❤ from PNW oregon

What hole does the throttle cable go through I put it in the second hole from the back does the throttle cable have track to go in. Thanks Rebel Dave

The black gas line is from the tank to the carburetor, what is the semi-clear line for? Thanks

Sorry for the delay, I had a heart attack!! Back in the saddle though---- thats a fuel tank vent line, you can tell by the screw type thing that is threaded down into the pipe. Stihl used those quite a bit, helpful hint: Your local stihl dealer will sell you JUST the screw bleed, you can screw it into your own clear line to save some $$$$$ vs a preassembled tank vent.

What does that screw type thing in the hose do? I repaired a 011AV I found in my dad's shed and it didn't have that screw thing in the vent line. What does it do? It seems to run fine without it.@@Revellersaws

@leviboling1298 it makes it easy for air to get out, harder for fuel to escape. The saw will run perfectly fine, but it may/will most likely leak fuel when it's tipped.

@@Revellersaws How far into tank does the vent line need to go? Also, do I need a filter for the end sitting in the airbox? I am going to try to find just the screw bleed and put in my own line. TYIA!

Please help!!! ...my 010 Stihl saw doesn't want to work I replaced the fuel line cleaned the carburettor ....several time and now even put new gaskets ....trough the yellow hose I can see the petrol coming from the tank flowing in the carburettor ....It starts and stops ...a time only seems to start but it doesn't ... It has WALBRO carburettor H....one turn out ...L ....one turn out ....I think the compression is ok ....so does the sparks .... Where is mystery to make it start ?? I even got a 009 & 011 some problem with them too ??

After it tries to start, is the spark plug end wet or dry?

@@Revellersaws Thank you for your replay ....as I sad I put new gaskets in the carb then I tried to start but it would not respond so I put a bit of petrol in spark plug hole and it fired and stopped ....after many attempt I gave it up and went in to have a cup of coffe ...when I went to put it away I tried again and it started ....then I started to play with the H & L screws and I made sure they were ONE TURN OUT ...is this the right way to do it ? Should start with the H first or the other way around ? Thank you .

@@tonyd6821 if the spark plug is wet, it's flooded. Means the carb might be improperly assembled. If it's dry, then it's not getting enough or any fuel. That can mean lots of things, but I would go out to 1.5 turns out and try again. Don't pull it to death, if it's going to start it'll do it in the first 10 or so.
