Good video, mate . Quick question . How do you diagnose if the pumps gone bad without pulling it out. Iv have a 4L one here that was run out of fuel . Filled it back up now it either won't prime or the pump as maybe gone bad. Any thoughts

does the pump make any sound when you turn the ignition on? more then likely the pump has failed, they dont like being run dry or out of fuel especially if its a old pump, give they pump a few thumps with your hand and see if it comes back to life, it might unstick and work. but its probably in need of changing.

Did you depressurise the fuel system before you swapped it? I might need to do this on mine and never touched anything with the ignition or fuel pump

no, i just did it after the car had been sitting overnight so most of the pressure had bled off.

no i sold it in 2017, i have had 3 more since. this one did suffer from ticking at high rpm when i first got it, it turned out to have a broken inner valve spring. i ended up fitting a set of trickflow alloy heads.

@@YTPREO picked mine up for 270 was a cunt of a job to do cause mine is a Ute and had to take the tub off. Save a lot of coin if you do it yourself very simple job especially if yours is a sedan.
