thank you for this, as an amateur strongman it's so good to know that i don't have to eat 3-4x what i currently do (~3000 calories / day) to be at a competitive pro strongman level. though i never really questioned the claim of 10-12k calorie diets among strongman i've always had a hard time accepting that they burn enough calories through training to offset that MASSIVE calorie surplus. the day of the bloatlord strongman is indeed over, the time of the athletic, well rounded strongman has come!

Really comes down to the individual as well. Someone like Brian Shaw (6'8" ~ 450lbs) or Thor(6'9" ~ 450lbs) will be eating more just purely down to their size when they're in competition prep. Brian himself has numerous actual videos of his competition consumption. Eddie on the other hand, who really knows there.

I already knew what the calorie count was close to because I saw the Eddie Hall diet breakdown video just prior to this one. Love the content, and really appreciate the cogent analysis of macros as well as appropriate levels. I find it amazing that - to compare completely different sports - both CrossFitters and Strongmen eat roughly parallel quantities of calories to what you're calculating here, but how those calories get used in each sport is vastly different.

In general in the last 10 years food science has made a huge impact on strongman. For the top tier the strategy of just stuffing as many calories eating what you want has given way to structured, performance based meal plans. It is interesting to see the differences in the meal approaches depending on body type, how it makes the athletes feel, etc.

This is inspiring and enlightening stuff ! You only need one "proper" prepared/ nice meal a day, the rest can be done quickly and a reheated meal prep. It looks like anyone can make a breakfast like that, and the two lunch meals (one for averaged sized people) can be made easily in bulk, and the beef can be fried with peppers and spinach to get some veggies super easy. One prepared dinner at the end of the day. Most people can eat like this !

Milk bags were introduced in the 1960s. About a decade later, Canada began converting to the metric system, which meant dairy producers had to replace and resize existing milk containers, which were then measured in imperial quarts.
