As to the drunken septon that married Tyrion and Tysha and later confessed to Tywin, I like the fan theory that it was Septon Cellador, the drunken holy man of the Night’s Watch that Jon meets in his chapters. I imagine that Tywin’s offer was go to the Wall for aiding in the “disgrace” to House Lannister or lose seven fingers because something something Face of The Seven.

I like the aspect of our heroes being impacted or left damaged, this material and Berserk both do this very well. Looking at Guts I can see the years on him. Much like us and the characters in this story are shells of there former selves, writhing to be a self. This makes them seem so human.

Granted, I've read all the books and am totally into the theory/analysis scene, so I'm kind of predisposed to liking it this way.
