I just realised something assassin creed takes place in memories. When a person is jumping off something wouldnt their perception of time be altered because of adrenaline ? maybe it could cause them to think they are moving faster.
@modetallah9 жыл бұрын
Actually adrenaline, along with a bunch of other hormones, actually slows down the perception of time. They all work together to put your body in overdrive mode, making everything work faster making time seem slower.

Remember, we're not talking about ordinary human beings here, either. 1) These are people who can get stabbed, shot multiple times, and then go hide in a bush or underwater and completely regenerate their health in two seconds. 2) They can see shit with Eagle Vision and mark targets from far away (known as "the sense"). 3) Edward had no formal assassin training whatsoever and he killed a seasoned assassin after being shipwrecked, exhausted, and shot in the shoulder. He could also climb just as good as any assassin before or after him (that we know of) because "every finger's a fish hook". 4) Most, if not all of them, can leap from the top of a building and land on their target, killing it, and suffer no damage whatsoever. After all of that, jumping from a tower and landing in a stack of palm leaves doesn't seem so far fetched (compared to everything else).
@Evravon10 жыл бұрын
Oh and they can run forever, basically.
@voltrainer10 жыл бұрын
Chad Small same with everyone else in that universe. i mean desmon has been shot in ac3 for awhile before u die during the infiltrate abstergo mission. and i feel that the fall just appears sped up in the animus cause thats how it felt for the ancestors. so the gravity could be just the same. like time and speed being illusions to the mind at times
@daftpunkfan120910 жыл бұрын
You know what's cool? There's an in-game justification for that if you think about it.
@2Hot2Handle3710 жыл бұрын
Actually, the Assassin's never got stabbed/shot multiple times. That's just you/Desmond or whoever is in the animus not following their ancestors properly causing them to lose synchronization(health).
@Evravon10 жыл бұрын
Not true. There are even scripted scenes in which the assassins are shot or stabbed. For example, the very first part of AC4 when you're chasing the assassin. He comes around a corner and says something like "follow me and I'll kill you". He then shoots you and you shrug it off in about two seconds.

Funny vid, BUT... You adjusted the wrong variable. (NERDALERT) The buildings in AC1 are actually built in a smaller scale then their real life cousins. Actually close to a 1:2 scale. So the Gravity controlled by the engine is correct but the bulding are shorter. AC2 increased the scale closer to 1:1.5. And AC-Unity is the first game to crate buildings in a 1:1 scale. Check out their developer diery on their new engine for confirmation. :)

I doubt it. Do you notice how if perform a jump that ISN'T a leap of faith from a high point, a genuine leap of faith, you fall faster? But if you perform a leap of faith into a haystack, it's much slower?
@WhiteWolf02125 жыл бұрын
I have an idea of mine, It is in an Animus and they may slow time in leaps of faith, I guess Desmond wanted to see the view from above and fall, and Tek, it is trying to watch the memories of those that existed from earlier days and the memories being watched or projected may not be accurate in time but see what they saw at their time.
@ChickenFartx4 жыл бұрын
If you watch close in one of the games (either the second or the first) when jumping off a really high building everything (including people) speeds up intel you reach the hey stack. I’m pretty sure time doesn’t speed up around you when you fall. Also this is still someone’s memories anyway. TLDR: the animus speeds up everything when you fall far in one of the games or it’s just the character’s memory.

One possible flaw: How do we know that game time vs real time has a ratio of 1:1 during the fall(s)? I've seen some games that sped up game-time during some scenes to prevent them from overstaying their welcome due to their non-interactivity. (EG:"30 seconds for this cut-scene? Speed it up to 20, that way it'll end before they quit out of boredom.")

+Sketch I thought it was the fact that if the assassins really did do those jumps into trailers the animation and trajectory means that if they made it into the trailers into the straw/flowers would do so without their heads? You can actually see the game glitching Ezio and Altiar into the trailers once their necks/upper backs hit the wood in the games. I could be wrong but that always made me cringe when I was playing as the thought of decapitation is not fun

They can get impaled and walk it off because its a game and the devs dont want to make the player mad again and again if he keeps dying after getting hit once. Thats like saying "Why can the protagonist in Far Cry not die after getting hit by bullets? Because he's a descendant of a GOD"

You're wrong, the Isu were not gods, but merely another race that lived WITH the humans (common misconception explained by Minerva). Their genus was homo sapiens divinus (by Abstergo, the Templars' company). The Isu were just precursors and technologically advanced than the modern humans. They've made pieces of eden, staves of eden, the observatory for storage and tracking certain individuals with a drop of their blood, etc. And eagle vision was one of their traits. All humans are capable of this ability, but some are more adept, and some may never actually get to use it.

Even though I enjoy the ridiculous over thinking, it's pretty obvious that the leap of faith (LoF from now on) is an on-rails animation with a fixed duration. It also changes the field of view slightly to make it seem faster. If you manage to jump off at the same height without triggering the LoF animation, you'll notice that the falls from the large heights are significantly longer and the shorter falls are much faster. (Actually, if you somehow manage to jump off in a non LoF area and land in a hay pile without triggering the LoF animation, you'll usually die from the fall, and if it does trigger the LoF you're treated with a very jarring and unrealistic animation where you're jerked sideways and abruptly rotated into the LoF position) At shorter heights LoF seems to go into slow motion first and then speed up to normal speed, while at greater heights it starts at normal speed and speeds up significantly. I think they just used one default duration for most LoF's and a few custom durations for the largest falls, optimized not for realism but for how long the player is willing to endure an on-rails animation before getting annoyed. Probably the extra long custom durations for the largest falls was necessary both to make it more "epic" and to avoid making it a flickering blur. Another obvious clue that it's an on rails animation is that it follows the same curve from where you started and in the direction you were facing every time but at the end of the animation it suddenly adjusts the position by translating the position to match the target, so that you hit the target even though you should have missed it. At 3:28 see how he should have landed with his back or neck on the edge of the cart, but somehow he magically jerks forwards to land perfectly. It's probably a lot easier using the same movement curve and translating it during the fall than to calculate a curve that would actually hit the target every time.

+Mrs DinoRawr You read books longer than this in elementary school... Just saying... I doesn't take long to read this much. The post itself is actually quite useful. I've a number of the games and even I didn't notice the animation speed variances. Yet I really wasn't that focused on the event. I just marked it off as "epic jumps just for sake of epic jumps" and nothing else. Never thought there was a hint of reality in the act. I preferred the combat system more and focused on it... but the more you! etc.

That's assuming that the gravity on Earth suddenly increased after being the normal 1 G forever. If it had always been like that in this world, life would have evolved to handle it long ago and architects would design buildings to be able to stand under this gravity.
@tylerclubb92398 жыл бұрын
Yes. If gravity had always been like this, nothing would be changed in theory, as literally everything on earth would be suited for this amount of gravity, while if gravity suddenly changed to this increased amount of gravitational pull, then we would plainly die.
@anonym39678 жыл бұрын
Not excactly, since stone would still have the same desity, so while architekts might adapt to the high gravity, buildings would have to be more stable than usually, making it highly unlikely that they would look the same.
@MeIguessbro7 жыл бұрын
But that means the gravitational pull between the sun and earth would change. Also the earth would be the second slowest planet in our solar system meaning the years would be much longer. So in theory the game would be much longer. I think, I'm only 10 so I have only seen people play it and we don't do science in school often.

Theory: the animus speeds things up when you're falling. So you're not just bored waiting for the animation to finish.
@RCDeschene10 жыл бұрын
Nice science you presented there, but you missed on one huge factor to the Assassins... They're not completely human! All of the assassins are directly related to the preceding god-like race that lived on earth, "The Ones Who Came Before". All of what you said would probably apply to the normal humans in the game's reality, but the assassins themselves that break reality for being what they are.

ZANARK Desmond's bloodline isn't the only Assassin heritage out there. The way I've always seen it in the AC games is that every Assassin the hero recruit may coincidentally have Adam & Eve's DNA.
@Zanarkdi10 жыл бұрын
RCDeschene though possible that would be AN EXTREMELY BIG coincidence, unless according to AC Brotherhood, each new assasin had to pass a series of trials until becoming Rank 10. At the graduation ceremony they had to perform the leap of faith, so maybe instead of that leap being and initiation maybe for Ezio and the brotherhood it was the ultimate proof of the new assasin to have that DNA in his blood, otherwise the noob assasin would die inevitably...
@RCDeschene10 жыл бұрын
ZANARK That actually never occurred to me. That actually makes more sense than it simply being a right of initiation. Then again, the assassins of that time didn't understand gravity so it wouldn't have been anything conscious as a validation of lineage.
