North-American gay bathhouses are so different to the ones in continental Europe. Most European "gay saunas" (as we call them) provide douching facilities on site and many free "rest rooms" that you don't need to pay extra for. Even in Bulgaria, we have a toilet with a hose for douching in almost every gay sex venue. I think that this is not the case in North America (and England) where you have to do this at home. Also in Europe, there is no such thing as a "membership" to be able to visit a gay sauna. You just pay the entrance fee and you go in, locker and towels included in the price, no membership needed.

A hose for douching that everyone sticks up their ass/arse? Do the fellas bring their own detachable/disposable tips or just use the same nozzle as everyone else? Or are you referring to hand-held shower heads? Where are these hoses located? In the shower area where people stick the hoses up their butts and release the contents of their bowels on the floor?

Another point... PATIENCE!!! Don't get pissed off if you're not hooking up within the first few minutes of your arrival. These things sometimes take time. Plan on spending AT LEAST an hour or two.... b'cuz 20 min just aint gonna cut it. I've said it before, its a bathhouse, not the corner 7-11

Regarding valuables (or just keeping your stuff safe): some bathhouses have lockable storage inside the rooms and your room key doubles as the storage key. Use it to put all your stuff in there. Your key is with you the whole time, so no one's gonna get into your room and take your stuff.

Wow bath houses must have really changed in the last 40 years. When I was there in my 20's they had safety boxes behind the desk and you would lock up your wallet and any thing valuable there so you didn't have to worry about it. What you are describing sounds more like an adult bookstore.

Absolutely yes, just get a room. But if there's creepers who won't leave you alone, tell staff. Every bath house has a Do Not Admit list and we need to know what patrons are not respecting consent.

Also, I need to travel more and go see our competition. Bc our bathrooms are immaculate, the pH balance in the hot tub is rated best by the health department, and the floors all get mopped daily. Idk what other bath houses are doing... But we bust our asses to provide a safe, CLEAN, place for people to have fun.

Bring your own shampoo/ body wash ! The hot tubs and pools can be nasty AF so bring a good clarifying shampoo to get stuff cleared!

In my experience of 5-6 different baths, the bathroom wasn't all that gross. But then, I have been in restrooms all over the world and the worst are usually transit points (bus station, truck stop, some train stations) where there are no "dedicated" attendants.

No, it's a normal question. Depends, but generally people are respectful. Usually a 'no thank you' works in keeping them away. Be firm but polite.

Most bath houses have more free condoms than any one person could use in a lifetime. Usage is a mixed bag. Just be clear about which way you want to go, and be vigilant about making sure wrapped things stay wrapped.

Suggestion for future video Patrick: the "etiquette" surrounding all aspects of "public sex" (with an audience) in a bathhouse. In my experience, about 90% of guys who go to bathhouses are voyeurs, with only 10% (if that) being exhibitionists. The vast majority of guys at a bathhouse are too shy to engage in sex in any of the public areas. This is either because they are young (under 30), inexperienced (to bathhouse culture), or don't want their "sex techniques" or their bodies being judged. (I was originally guilty of all three.) But oh boy!... Most guys are more than willing to watch other guys going at it in a public space! I eventually got over my shyness, and some of my best memories are episodes where I had an "audience." But those are stories for another time. 😁👍🌈

Depends on the place, but I believe it's rare. Steamworks Toronto had a trans night, but not anymore since it wasn't popular enough (it's all about the money). There are swingers clubs for straight folks... they may have a trans night... I wish it was more inclusive

This is why I’ve never visited a gay bathhouse. I’ve only known of them to be places where you have anonymous sex with strangers. I live in Chicago and my bestfriend goes to Steamworks sometimes and he has always tried to get me to go with him. But I’m always hesitant because I know the main reason that people are there, which is not exactly my cup of tea. But he always tries to tell me that it’s not just for sex. He says that they have saunas and stuff as well, so that you can relax as well and don’t really have to have sex with someone. But I feel like if I wanted to relax, I would just go to a spa, not a gay bathhouse. It just doesn’t make sense to me to how he always tries to get me to go with him by lying like that 😂 Seeing this video just basically proved my point.

SAME!! I was 21 also, and was taken (unbeknownst to me) to one in Ft Lauderdale. Overwhelming as hell...and I wasn't even that cute! The odd thing that sticks out in my head, the song "Deeper and Deeper" by Madonna was popular at the time...I was sitting in my room and heard that song at least 20 times on the speakers while I tried to plan my escape. Also never have gone back again!
