I love cruising the bushes or wooded trails. I just wish people would get out of the house and off Grindr and get the real thing. It sure isnt anything like it was years ago. You either got out of the house or starved for it one. I remember when parks and trails were very cruisy in some areas. I myself have driven for a couple of hours to spend the day just cruising some park or trails. I loved it. That was the good days.

One important thing, remember which way you came from. You don't want to get lost in the woods. Also, depending how deep (sorry for the pun) you go into the woods, you might not have cellphone service to help you out with directions.

Oh, Patrick, you crack me up! I used to be much better at outdoor cruising in my late teens/early twenties so I know very well what you're talking about. Now that I'm in my late 40's I'm more wary about it. I still like to explore when possible, but not to the extent I used to back then.

You’re obviously in one of the cooler parts of the northern hemisphere. Where I am, we’re hitting 105°-107° (41°-42°C) each afternoon. With humidity. In the shade. WAY hotter in the sun. WAAAAAY too hot to be out cruising in the bushes. Even at midnight it can still be close to 90°. Don’t get me wrong - I’ve been known to be on my knees in the woods in the middle of the night in high summer - but air-conditioned cruising is far more common here at this time of year.

Patrick: This is the sort of video every interested guy needs to watch. I hate to have to make these suggestions; but, I also suggest, that depending on your location, you may want to use your apps to find out if law enforcement organizations (LEO) is focusing on an area. They do this sometimes, depending on the local opinion about discreet outdoor sex. I'm glad you're mentioning the importance of condoms, lube, wet wipes, and garbage bags. These are all important. Another thing, that I hope you will never need, is a defensive pepper spray. First make sure it's legal in your area. But, I have found areas where antigay people cruise. I hope that doesn't occur where you are. Cruising should be about sex, happiness, fun, and respect.

True story: when I was a teenager, me and my then boyfriend (identify as lesbian now) would use the bushes at our local park to book up. I have never been cruising in the woods. Sounds like a good place to get stabbed to death. Go to a bathhouse instead. Much safer and they even have showers for easy clean up. Also, you should not need bug spray unless your local bathhouse is a real dump. Then bring a can of Raid.

I myself have cruised parks in the past but i find sometimes some of the guys are far too promiscuous and will have sex with just about anyone literally which kind of turns me off.I have to be attracted to their face first to fool around .Some gay men can be very sleazy and too promiscuous .For example i would once see a guy have sex with almost every single person in the park and then they come up to me and i just walk away from them because their behaviour turns me off.

I'm in the UK and have been Cruising for decades, when word of mouth was the "Squirt" of its day. I like to make an afternoon/evening of it and am happy to travel some distance and always go prepared, especially with food and drink.
