The straightening of the elbows is the key detail I needed!! Thank you so so much coach!!

I love this "kill" position. So many variations/possibilities from here.

I love that expression: "keep everything in play". Whenever you commit to that traditional armbar there's no return (sort of), you either get it or you have to start over from bottom. The way you show in the video preserves opportunity, or keep everything in play as you say 💪

Pure gold. So many nice little details, and yet nothing complicated. This is why we love Coach Brian!

Really love the details.... straighten arms, flare leg, sit back.... super key for someone like me who doesn't have the best flexibility and learning to move

That crucial bottom leg flare-out insertion detail is crazy! Game changer 🔥

Can’t wait to try this! The king of gift wrap options to me is to move my back side leg as far away as I can and as I pull my opponent towards it I connect to him with my groin/stomach and turn him belly down and flattened out, usually with their both arms trapped underneath them. Why not stay on top if you take the back.

Gonna go try this in 30 min.

Since I started watching your rear triangle videos and started using it, omg its so strong. I play a top heavy game and struggle a lot with arm triangles. Ive just been going gift wrap to rear triangle lately. ez finishes.

Thanks coach great stuff! Definitely going to use this position. If I get to that position in the gi I would probably go for the chicken wing choke.

Best video on KZbin on giftwrap attacks because it renders the guy useless to defend because of the awkward position that lends to you winning regardless

Thank you so much for your techniques. I learned a lot from you and I just tried the ghost escape and I just did escape the ghost from a brown belt and I’m a white belt and it’s been three months that I started BJJ.all the techniques are perfect I love it and thank you so much.

This is an excellent tip. I've been trying something close to this because when I go for the back take from that S-mount and gift wrap, many guys try to block my hook coming in down low and that allows me to trap their arm from up high. We end up in crucifix and I'll one arm choke them. This iteration of that same idea seems better, because I'm sitting back and not rolling over to my back, I'm keeping hold of the top position and getting both legs connected and wrapped around them for some really nice 2 on 1 control. Looks great, can't wait to try this.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge coach. You sure are quick with this stuff. From my position it’s hard to understand how a person could get so good. Much respect.

Timely Haka coach! Go the ABs this weekend. Nice technique as well. I play the gift wrap a lot but have trouble finishing armbars because of the reasons you mentioned. I'll try these variations. Thanks.

Was just thinking about going for the reverse triangle from technical mount a couple of days ago, similar to this. I'm thinking there's a regular mounted triangle available as well, depending on what they do with their other arm. Need to try to land this tonight!

Great videos as per usual. Thanks for taking the time to do them. Been trying to practice some wrestling/grappling myself. One thing I've noticed is I find the over under position quite a vulnerable spot. I can get a lot takedowns, but I also get taken down a lot. Do you have any videos on the over under position specifically how to stay safe in it, or the correct way to exit safely. Or is it just a vulnerable position and you have to just get on with it. I stand pretty bladed start to wonder whether I should be more square.

@TeachMeGrappling Жыл бұрын
Cool does he do this just how I do?
@MeisterFF Жыл бұрын
Not exactly. He doesn't "trap" the arms from there like you, which I think it's brilliant. He uses that position as a transition to either the back, the back triangle, standard arm bar with a cross face leg, or side triangle. You showed some of those transitions.@@TeachMeGrappling
