Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

Күн бұрын

Cliffe Knechtle has a good dialogue with students at Texas State University. Recorded in October 2013.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

John McGlone PMEWhite is absolutely right. Suicide is a Major sin. ***** that is pure nonsense! Explain John 6:66-71 in light of what you just wrote! From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” 68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”[i] 70 Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” 71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve. Jesus had a chosen one named Judas who walked no more with Jesus and betrayed Him. In vs 66 the Bible specifically states that MANY disciples walked with him no more. Please look at the big little word, IF! How many times in the NT does God require the believer to fulfill the IF part of His commands. IF you endure, IF you abide, etc. You need to surrender your traditions of men. See this YT channel for more resources on the conditional security of the believer: kzbin.info

Why not go to heaven where there is no pain or sorrow.even now Cliff I've been watching your videos and love your teaching but wisdom says not to commit suicide . Thow shall not kill. I think that means even yourself.

Let's assume that the molecules and cells and what not _did_ all come together by chance and lifeforms _did_ gradually evolve... They still did so in a highly complex and productive manner. Looking at basic patterns in nature (such as the Fibonacci sequence) you can see _order_ and structure. Design. This means that there is a pattern and set of rules to be followed. The very first self-replication of the first rudimentary life-form would have to be programmed, there's no alternative. Spin it any way you want; there is a designer and creator. Why would God make it so that innumerable generations of life had to pass on their genes and struggle and die just to get to what he could instantly form?

But theoretically we are not going to Heaven because we stopped all the sinning & have now been all perfect Christians! We are going to Heaven because of Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross to pay for all of our sins, Right? It's supposed to be a Free Gift when we genuinely Repent and trust in Jesus Christ (alone) to save us! BUT OF COURSE, UNLESS A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN WAS IN REALLY AWFUL PAIN MEDICAL CONDITION, BUT MAINLY I CAN'T SEE ANY TRUE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN ACTUALLY COMMITTING SUICIDE...

I find that too many times, humans , Religious or secular, spend time on Unnecessary matters. "Are we going to be able to fly in heaven? Will the dammed Burn Eternally in hell?" I don't care about flying in heaven. I'm certain All the Good that will be in heaven is more than enough that I will be grateful I'm not on this corrupt world or worse....hell. I don't care about eternity in hell. One minute in it will be more than enough to confirm that I should of worried about doing right by the Lords Word while on Earth instead of transgressions and wondering about eternal hell. Also, I find that some individuals are actually just set on dismissing the righteousness of God and instead focus on finding an error in anything he does. They care less of the context of why he took said action or in-action, but narrow their analysis to just the action. They are hell-bound to find the injustice. They condemn him on laying out justice, then condemn him we he doesn't lay out justice. It almost laughable that they feel they are wiser than God. As for the suicide matter and other such delimas, I say this. If the individual who committed suicide ends up in heaven or hell, that's none of our business, but God's. The individual is dead. Our concern and efforts need to be in befriending such individuals to bring them to Christ and help them fund that purpose in life to fight on. Help them improve their situation. I have had some portion of depression at moments in my life and it feels awful. It has has me contemplating suicide more than once. Only through the grace of God and the presence of the holy spirit have I been able to fight through the awful feelings and thoughts. Hell and heaven are at the end of our life journey. We need to focus on the here and now. Are we making good wise choices for ourselves, those loved ones around us and for society? Carry your cross by repenting from your old wasteful ways. Hope and faith are your strength.

15.42 > I'm a big fan but sorry I have to disagree with this one. I believe that suicide itself is a sin whether it is due to depression or not. Because I really believe that our body is God's temple, so by killing ourselves we destroy God's house. I also believe even in critical times we have the choice to keep hold on because our lives are very precious in God's eyes and only God has the right to give or takes our lives. Sorry to anyone who is experiencing depression I pray for you, may the love of Christ heal you.

Jesus Christ talked about the creation of the male and female and major old testament characters like Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon and queen of Sheba. The gospels record how Jesus Christ lived in Israel, died and rose. The world was made through Jesus Christ. Sin has deformed us but Jesus came to transform the body, soul, and the spirit and our twisted minds too. This life is a testing place for future life as an independent life without God is doomed for hell.

God punishes those who do evil in the Old Testament when a man raped a woman the punishment was the man had to pay the woman’s father some silver and the rapist had to marry the woman, now how does this do any justice to the woman? I would imagine she wouldn’t want to see him everyday let alone forced to stay with him forever. Now is marriage a punishment? because that is gods punishment to the man for raping the woman also losing some money, I can understand paying a fine like we do today but I see the marriage is wrong as should anyone if you don’t your the/a problem.

Suicide is murder and this sin has grave consequences. I like listening to Cliffe but I do feel the need to communicate. Man does not have the authority to murder or commit suicide and if they do there will be consequences (remember suicide means once the act is committed there is no more hope for that person) whereas a murderer still has the chance to repent while still alive. The dead have no chance to repent.

SuperSlartibartfast How do you know ones specific God is correct over all the other options? 1.) Realize the option you have, as it comes from past rational, is rational to hold until challenged. 2.) Realize that once the challenge is real, you Must not cling to the old theory Unless it is superior to the new. 3.) Realize that ignorance is not a life style, but a transition state. Thus, agnostic believes should be challenged & over come. If you remain an agnostic, after the active seeking of the questions answer is over, you are not an agnostic. You have made a decision, & need to embrace that. That is your start. If you are not compelled to find, quit asking! You are clearly Not interested enough to know. Thus, in the search for God, if you are not a theist of some kind at the end of active searching, you are an atheist. I know of no rational belief, that holds that given the information needed, that you withhold deciding. 'But,', you say, 'I am still not certain.'. That better include active searching or you are lying to yourself, most likely others. I want you to choose what is correct, but that does not allow for me to deny the importance of this choice. Not choosing, is saying no. Ex.) You are offered two choices soup or sandwich. If you choose neither or if you waffle eternally about which is better, your answer is neither. You are temporal & that forces the decision. You will starve if you do not chose, & that will end that dilemma. Which brings us back to your initial point. Who needs to prove God is or is not? You do! To whom? To you. It is no ones obligation to prove it. It is your life, you live it! Christians spread the knowledge of the word, we do not force converts to convert. If you want that proof (it is a proof as classically defined), then sure I have that. If you want to know, as Cliffe would say, proof, then no one can help you. In that case, you cannot even know your decision is correct, & yet temporarily requires a decision. Shrugging & saying, 'I am agnostic.', is not an option. I have plenty of evidence, but you have to honestly desire to evaluate it. If you doubt, all I can tell you is to work it out yourself. The path is harsh & you have to want it, but how is that different from anything else. I can beat you into submission with the proof, but that defeats the purpose. Are you ready to Learn, or are you unjustly requesting something you will not receive? Remember, your actions will backup your answer if you claim to be open to it. I have no problem proving you honest.

True Christians has not become believers randomly, they are awakened and prepared to everlasting life by Jesus Holy Spirit! It is very simple but effective, and Jesus baptizes with Fire, and through it we are born again, all thanks to Him! ✝🙏🤗❤😊 Do this sincerely first: Romans Chapter 10: verses 9,10. Then live in communion with the Holy Spirit of Jesus! God's promise is then personally fulfilled in you, and since He is more than willing to save you, you can trust Jesus because He IS "I AM" and He cannot lie!
