Man, I'm crying. To think that he is that bad is just overwhelming to me. To hear him able to bid us farewell with one of my favorite, touching songs, 'Adios', makes me realize that he is and will always be the most golden voices in my life. Glen, you will always be in my heart, and always on my player- Adios good buddy- one Campbell to another. Gulp

Was at his concert in Reno a few years ago , when he announced that his granddaughter Jenny was in the audience and that it was her birthday. Is it a coincidence that your name is Jenny Campbell ? Are you his granddaughter? I’m Glen’s biggest fan!

I'm crying, too, This man was so attuned to "the big note" that I call this kind of talent as being "touched by God." His voice was so perfectly in pitch, and he had a very highly evolved musical sensibility. He leaves us a great legacy, and we can be sure that he did exactly what he was put here on this Earth to do.

How is there even one thumbs down? Glen Campbell nailed this song hands down with late stage Alzheimers? Who could even be this good in perfect health? He may have had a wild life at one time but his Christian music was over the top great too and I know where he's going when he is done on this earth. I am truly blessed to have had the privilege to live a life molded by his music. What a beautiful life it has been with him in it.

I have grown up with Glenn Campbell and it is with a tremendous sadness I have watched him slowly slipping away. My father died with the same disease. I am so grateful to his family to share him with us. Ashley is Daddy's little girl and I know it is tearing her apart to see him become a stranger in the foggy grips of Alzheimer's. God has blessed us all with his incredible voice and his awesome runs on the guitar who is now a stranger to him. Heartbreak that brings tears!!

Jimmy Webb: ""This album is just kind of a gift from the gods. Carl Jackson is like some kind of magical person now, in my view, because he put the album together that Glen wanted to sing. And I just feel blessed that I get to hear these songs. It's like early Christmas." I feel so sad for Glen the disease prevents him from playing guitar anymore. Hang in there, Glen, and thank you for giving us a great body of work to treasure.

Last year I cycled 980 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats and raised £1230 to help fund research into Alzheimers. This is such a terrible illness. To see such a great talent struck down, and having watched the documentary about Glen a few years ago, I am once again moved to tears listening to this fabulous record. It reminds me of all those I've lost and all those still suffering. God bless and let us hope for a cure in the not too distant future.

This may be the absolute best version of this song, with a beautiful arrangement, and Glen's voice sounding as pristine as it did in his prime. I am so grateful that I got to meet him and see him perform live in 2005 in NYC with Jimmy Webb. It meant so much to finally meet the man whose music literally got me through my childhood. He was warm, funny, and kind, and I have the pictures to prove it. He was not always appreciated as the supreme artist that he is - but now, in his last recording, we are reminded again of his genius. God speed to you and God bless you, Glen Campbell.

From RollingStone today, May 2, 2017, regarding Glen's upcoming album, ADIOS: "...the LP stands among Campbell's best - heartbreaking and imbued with poignancy, but sung with the same pure, sparkling vocals that are a distinguishing hallmark." God Bless you, Glen Campbell, for your last tremendous gift of music to the world. ~Dee Z.

when was the album recorded?
@GlenCampbellForums7 жыл бұрын
Glen recorded his vocals just after the Goodbye Tour had ended in November 2012. So late 2012, early 2013 probably. The introduction by Kim Campbell in the CD booklet seems to suggest that some time passed between those sessions and the additional recordings they did for the album.

I ordered his album 2 days ago and it arrived today. I am giving it to my Dad for Fathers day. I know he will get a little chocked up. I am 43 and my earliest memories are riding in the 1975 Chevy wagon with Glen Campbell turned up on the AM radio. My Dad can't sing well, but I didn't know any different. I loved listening to him sing along to the words. The world is losing a legend of a musician. Thank you to the Campbell family.

❤This is such a beautiful song and a perfect one for all of us who loved Glen Cambell and his music to have to cherish our memories of him by. My father introduced me to Glen Cambell. He brought home his first album and we would listen together. We also enjoyed watching his variety show. My Daddy also suffered from Alzheimer's before his passing in 2004. I cherish the memories I have of the two of us loving this great man and his music. It brings tears to my eyes when I listen to him because I know what he and his family have had to endure. What a wonderful legacy he has left for them to hold on to. They did a wonderful thing when they had the foresight to make these recordings. They honor him and give his fans something to remember him by as well as bringing awareness to the world that Alzheimer's research is so important. God bless the families who have been affected by Alzheimer's. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song. ❤

I remember the first time I heard Galveston, Witchita Linemen, Still Within The Sound Of My Voice and now Adios. One day I will be going home and see this friend I have never known that made such a huge impression in my life.
