I have a 100” 6 post 43” rack. I went with the 300lb weight stack version. I am currently building it onto my rack. He is correct the packaging is industrial just like the product. I have everything built other than the cable installed. I did go with the shrouds, I had the shrouds and a few other parts powder coated to match my color scheme in the gym. I’ll update with pictures and a short review once I get it all completed

I did complete the build on my single weight stack FM6. I went with the aluminum pulley’s originally, and looks like they only offer aluminum pulleys. This functional trainer is legit the cables and pulleys are very smooth. The directions for build are surprisingly very efficient they got all the pulleys labeled by numbers with arrows to feed cable in the correct direction. I do have the 100’ rack so cable length seems to be good, I am 6’ and haven’t seen any issues with any functions of the cable length being too short. I am currently still having the shrouds powder coated but rouge put the most industrial foam 6” tape on the inside of the shrouds to prevent the pulleys going metal to metal which I don’t think they would even contact the inside of the shrouds anyway this foam tape is a nightmare to remove. Also I’m new to reviews and didn’t realize you are it able to post pics I mention in my first message I would put a pic. I will post some pics on the rogue site in there review section once I get the shrouds on. I will definitely post a positive review. I feel they have built a quality product. All there stuff is very over built

So if I’m listening right, if you’re considering a 🦏 the best option is to go with a plate loaded 6-post as now you have 1) Functional trainer in the front 2) Rhino in the back 3) Pull up bar up front 4) Lat pull-down in the middle 5) Low row from the middle/Rhino and still room to bench/squat in the front section. You’ve turn my order of a FM-HR twin-stack completely on its head! Thanks!

@@JV-pi1gc They also will not sell the add-on (FM part) for the FM-HR if you have a monster half rack. You must buy it along with a new rack if you want to go with Rogue. Rogue also has no plans for any add-on for any 4-post Monster racks ( HR, RM-3, or RM-4).

Can we get a follow up video from you on the Rogue functional trainer after a couple weeks of use? We are starving for content and reviews on this equipment. It’s shocking to me that your review is STILL the only one on KZbin (congrats and thank you). Customers have been receiving these new functional trainers for over a month now and no one other than you has put out a review. How is it possible that the largest equipment release of the year by the largest home gym supplier is not being reviewed by anyone else? It makes no sense to me but thanks again for being a true man of the people and giving us the content we want. Please capitalize on your current content monopoly on the new Rogue functional trainers and give us more!

I’ve been following this release so closely. They announced the FM the day I ordered my first squat rack. They talked me to going to the RM-6 43” cause it was the only rack they would support they claimed. Even when it was way too big for my garage. Then they ended up supporting every rack size anyway. They let me down grade to the 24” thank goodness! Now just waiting for my twin stack to arrive. Please review the dual stack to confirm I made the right choice. 😅

Just found your channel looking for any reviews or ideas about the Rogue functional trainers. Our FM-6 Twin Stack (selectorized, no shrouds, 43”, 100” tall in beautiful Burnt Orange) was delivered yesterday and we are part way through assembling it. The Rep Ares would fit a bit too tight in my garage for my liking, and I don't want the 80" model. The Rogue twin stack seems perfect for me at 91.5" tall. Can't wait for the review! Also, do your links for Canadian customers?

Great review as always! I didn't even consider the loss of cable length due to the weight stack. Excellent job pointing that out. I've been back and forth with this and the Ares 2.0. I think I'll go with the rogue after all. American made and it can be purchased inthe same color as my rack - gunmetal. Yes, I'm going to have two racks, but it's worth it - maybe. I've not seen any indication that it will. They could certainly engineer something but the add-on rhino they have slated for now utilizes the plate loaded tower.

@@jeremylum-danson959 I have am RM-6 currently and ordered a standalone FM-HR Twin. Maybe they'll make a Rhino that can be used with weight stacks...otherwise, having never used a Rhino, I'm not sure what I'm missing out on.

@@William-Bonney it doesn't seem too hard to make the bottom pulley work as a belt squat. I imagine some company out there can come up with a creative solution to utilize up to 600 lbs between both stacks. That is way more convenient than loading plates on and off all the time.

I feel like the dream would be to build it with the plate loaded rhino compatable for the back post, then to have twin stacks for the functional trainers. 3 stacks sounds excessive, but if you’ve got the money, who wants to compromise?

Got my twin stack on the way. I think cable travel will be a bit better at 300lbs with a twin stack as the total weight used is divided into two for the one to one. (Maxes at 300 not 600) At 5”8 I don’t have the wingspan as someone who is 6ft so I don’t foresee the cable travel on deltoid cross overs being an issue on a 90” rack. @gluck would love to see if you can mimic that. Maybe the woman in the videos who you somehow convinced to go along with your home gym obsession can help out since she’s also a little closer in height Much appreciated the content. Can’t wait til you stop one day so I can stop spending monies via your affiliate links.

I'm not into the functional trainers in the garage gym but this looks like it was executed well by rogue. I'd perfer a freestanding lat pull down low row stack, like what rep has and that you recently reviewed. I laughed when you mentioned the comments tell you "you don't lift" and "fatboys" hahaha

We need a comparison to the MAXUM Fitness SX2!! That one seems like a better buy IMO since you get the dual 220lb weight stacks + built-in plate-horns, smith machine, vertical leg press plate, and unique articulating functional trainer arms. Not to mention a bunch of other attachments/accessories included for $4K with free shipping and lifetime warranty. Just feels like a lot more versatility while costing quite a bit less if you add similar attachments to a Rogue or Rep option to try to do a more apple-to-apples comparison to what comes with the SX2. And the SX2 still does things you can't with either of those due to the smith machine, leg press plate, and unique functional trainer arms. Only real downside I can see is the SX2 is only available as a half-rack with 11-gauge 3" x 3" uprights with 5/8" holes, so no full rack or 1" hole options.

I don’t find those cons to be bad. Westside hole spacing is worth more than overpriced 1” hole attachments imo. It’s just a shame there is not much reviews out there for the SX2 and I don’t know how responsive Maxum is or how long they’ll stick around.

The half-rack and 5/8" holes aren't a big deal to me, I just know some people won't buy anything without 1" holes or only want a full rack setup so it's the only downsides that I could see being a potential deal-breaker for some. Wish they had options for both like you can get with Rep or Rogue. From what I've seen around online, MAXUM seems to be pretty responsive and has good customer service. The SX2 also seems very solid from the few people I've seen post about getting it. I believe MAXUM has been around since around 2019 or 2020 so they've been in business for a few years at least, but still not a very well-known option or an established company for decades or something. Wish we could get more coverage for sure to know if they're products really are as good of a value as they seem to be on paper.

I'll probably still end up buying the SX2 because it's an incredible value overall with all the attachments in a small form factor. Thankfully I'm not all that strong (yet) anyway so it'll be hard for me to break something.

Rogue indeed has many options for this rack which is good. Oddly, they are gatekeeping the add-on for the Monster half rack behind the purchase of an entire FM-HR. I own a Monster HR as part of a Monster Cave. Their development team and leads confirmed they will not ship the FM (functional trainer) part of the FM-HR separately. However, they were happy to upsell into the entire cost of the FM-HR or additional uprights/ crossmembers. Also odd and unlike them. Maybe their ecosystem is becoming more closed. Will take a closer look at the Ares 2.0, if the only option is buying a new rack for a compact option.
