I do construction. Last year I had about a 80% closing rate. Now I have a closing rate around 2-5% I also live in a small town where 30% of the population lives below the poverty line and the median income is less than 35k. Sometimes I feel like this information is for people who do business in large, populous, wealthy markets.. It would be nice to get this information from the perspective of someone in a smaller community. idk people in Oregon are weird. Maybe I should head back to Dallas, TX. Its so hard to compete on anything but price here. I can't stay in business with rock bottom prices.. but I can't earn any business if I'm not the lowest Price. It's like my customers are determined for me to lose money on all jobs. My girlfriend sells products and her customers are happy to pay her. My customers literally want me to lose money. Anyone have any good links or advice to check out in my situation?

Michael Henn where are you? Portland is a Mecca for construction right now. I had my general contractors license in Oregon and I did great. People in Oregon at willing to pay whatever you throw at them as long as it’s reasonable. I mean I can only talk about Portland, bend, Salem and surrounding areas but what your saying doesn’t make sense. I would close 90 percent of sales in those areas.
