@@saltybrackishfresh Here's the issue I have with the way Greg goes about selling Turk: the fact that he says "try it for yourself and if it doesn't work then you can have your money back guaranteed" means that as of right now there isn't sufficient evidence in the literature to recommend it because otherwise he would just use that to show Turk's efficacy. He asks his fans to test it for themselves and, given that most people buying it from him trust him, they will think that it works anyways (even if it actually doesn't) because of the placebo effect. This looks like a scheme by Greg to make money by leveraging the trust of his fans by selling a compound that potentially doesn't even benefit them in he first place. This is why I think it's shady.

Facts. I used to be jacked a couple years ago, and I’m fat now. I’m still jacked under the fat, I just need to lose about 40lbs. And to put it simply, I stopped tracking my diet, overate consistently, and did less cardio. The result is I gained weight over a couple years. It’s just the truth. I’m excited because I still don’t look bad, and I’ve been in top shape before and I know exactly what to do. But the truth is I slacked off for over a year and and am now overweight. It’s definitely a mental battle, because I’m naturally always craving shit food. But I’m working my way back to being in top shape again.

I have to agree with Greg. When I powerlifted, I ate a whole lot more to add 30 lbs. to my body wright to 254. I ate according to what I wanted to do and that was to lift heavier and heavier. When I dialed it back, I did exactly what Coach Greg tells everyone. Diet is probably the most important factor in longevity and fitness health. At 71 years I can't lift what I did at 40, 50 or even 60 years of age. My focus changed as did my diet. From looking at the heavy guys in the video, I would simply say to them- cut the breads, sugars and walk 20-30 minutes after each meal to get started. I did this and am back to 225 lbs and looking forward to getting to 200 lbs with cycling and the TRX system and yoga. Toxicity are guys like Wes Watson calling people wimps and wussies. Toxicity is watching You tube not ban fitness people for assaulting others in the gym. Toxicity is negated by not listening to people like Big Strength Cartel, Kali Muscle or anyone who uses steroids or PED's to tell you that their method is the only way. Stop watching movie stars lie about their diets and understand they use drugs every day for a movie role. The vast majority of us simply need to control our diets and move forward in increments we can handle and goals we can accomplish.

This whole “fat acceptance” thing, people are trying to convince themselves anything can be attractive. It can’t. This whole “sweetie you’re perfect” attitude just makes no sense to me. Nobody’s perfect, part of being better is accepting your flaws and trying to improve them. Recently I was talking to someone and opened up about some personal stuff, saying it made me feel pathetic sometimes, and they responded “don’t say that, you’re perfect”. I responded just stating the objective truth: “no, I’m not”. I get they were trying to be nice, but if I was perfect, I wouldn’t have to do the work on myself that I do every single day, and if anything, I should still be doing so much more. Maybe in some cases, like in mine, it is someone else’s fault you ended up where you are. Plenty of shit has happened to me that was completely out of my control and has left me a bit fucked up in a myriad of ways. But no one else can do the work for you; changing your life is your responsibility. And a hypothetical perfect life would be a pretty boring one.

I finally did the crazy training and holy shit, I called my brother and father and told them i was sorry for not listening to them as i was growing up. the mental clarity that comes with being in shape is so insane it is not funny. seriously nothing can stop you, mentally. Anyway, all that is to tell you that those people don't know the difference and they really think the problem is you. they won't ever know unless they get into shape. its not possible for them to mentally be capable of understanding the same way you, i, and other people that have fitness experience do. i can say that because i was one of them 20 years ago.

I guess it depends on the person, but I sort of do agree with Greg on how the put downs can be a motivator. Last year my ex broke up with me and simply said her reason for it was that I was unattractive. I could accept the breakup, but what she said really really hurt me for 2 reasons. The first is because I didn't expect it coming from her, the person who would always tell me I was handsome. With her saying this to me, I felt that she must have spent a very long time lying to me and so many things about the relationship such as lack of intimacy etc, it all began to make sense to me. 2. Deep down I knew it was true. By pushing all my energy and focus towards her and trying to find ways (the wrong ones) to deal with all the problems/stress in the relationship I'd let myself go. I think I actually went to the gym the very next day and have went ever since. It might be brutal, it might be painful, but it can work wonders for your mental health, so yes try and use put downs as a motivator.
@GheeJuiceКүн бұрын
What I read from this that a lot of overweight people miss, is acceptance! In two ways. One, accepthling the situation for what it is. Two, admitting you in fact did let yourself go and not blaming other people. You accepted it, and now you can work on it. A lot of people don't wanna be honest with themselves, thus cannot start working on themselves.

Mr. Doucette, I get your point, certainly some people need to hear the core aspect of your message. However, none of this gives anybody the right to be mean to someone for no good reason. It's just basic etiquette and respect for others. Even if someone needs to hear some harsh truths, there is a restrained and persuasive way to go about it, no need to just burn all the bridges immediately. I say this as someone who has gotten involved in his fair share of arguments, both in person and online over what is right and wrong. Some people are in genuine need of some criticism, but no matter what you think of them on the inside, there is a compassionate and reasonable way to approach them. Of course how nice you continue to be depends on their response.

If you're getting offended and/or affected by what other people say about you is because there may be some truth in it,not every time of course but a lot of the times you are so affected by it is because you know you are wrong somewhere and could be doing more.
