I wonder if people realize how difficult of a song this is vocally? It’s like each syllable he utters is a different note, all up and down the scale! Josh’s vocals are outstanding on all the songs in this album, but this one and Caravel are probably the most vocally challenging. Obsessed!
@celicalover13 жыл бұрын

“The Battle at Garden’s Gate” is, unequivocally, one of the most immersive sonic experiences I’ve had in a long while. Very, very few bands can truly pull this off nowadays on this level. At slightly over 1 hour, this is one massive album, and the songs are simply epic. The opening track sets the tone for the whole, and the last one, The Weight of Dreams, (not to mention Broken Bells, Age of Machine and Tears of Rain) rivals the best songs in rock music. That’s a bold statement, but I think it’s apt. The album as a whole, in its unity and complexity, is a very powerful statement indeed. Kudos, guys. 🙌🙌🙌

My favorite track off this 4-star album. As a devoted rock fan for over four decades I am so grateful for this young band. Do they sound like Zeppelin, Rush, The Who combined? Yes, but is that a bad thing? I would rather take a band with amazing roots connected to rock n' roll's period than another cookie cutter modern rock band out there. Sometimes it's necessary to revisit a style previous, because rock in general has been on life support for a good while. Keep kicking ass GVF!!!

@@shellywf7414 some critic put it very on point and direct when he said, I would rather have one band sounding like Led Zeppelin than a dozen Nickelback safe rock sound alike bands. I couldn't agree more. The only time the band upset me was way over 4 years ago during a major radio interview. The DJ asked what are your guys Top few influences and Josh said The Who and Aerosmith, and the DJ even paused when he shakingly agreed with Josh. When you could tell not just the DJ but so many of us listeners were like just say it's Led Zeppelin!! There's no harm in it, so that kinda upset me when Josh kinda slighted who is easily the #1 influence by picking two others. But, I got over it after thinking God knows how many times they have been told that already.

I hear you. Far too many soundalike bands. I’m a life long rock fan like you, but I don’t just like any rock music. These guys have the it factor; it’s very rare for a band to have excellent writing skills, a great singer, and incredibly talented guitarist, keyboardist/bassist and drummer. I’m a lifelong Zeppelin fan, so yeah I hear the “nods” to their heroes and I think that’s ok; it’s obvious enough that I don’t think they need to give credit? I see your point though. I honestly think it’s partly done tongue-in-cheek, seeing their sense of humour in social media.

Eles citam mil influências sempre, principalmente do blues.

People don't realise how good these lads are, seen them live in Manchester this year and they are stunning live his voice is ridiculous and the playing is better than anything about there generation. You either get it or you don't and I pity those who don't appreciate them X 😎 gtv ♂️❤️👍

These guys are a tight group. Everything they do and every note and chord are so perfect. I hope they are around for a long time.

“.... but even sinners get to drink the wine; break the bread...” Wow.... Okay after listening for hours I realize the line is “even sinners GO to drink the wine...” Totally different interpretation now, it’s not a call for redemption, it’s a jab at the hypocrites.... the “holier-than-thou” types...
