Hi GS- in DSG also have Wet Clutch type and it has more life span.. in current generation DSG have solved max. heat issue as per orientation clutch type and Torque ratio.

Good review!! The reliability depends on the driving nature, also during the monsoon season or when water service is done, water should not enter into the gearbox. A periodic maintenance will enhance its reliability.

The benefits of using automatic technology is to reduce the human work effort and to increase the ride pleasure, wheres the DCT is not meant for Indian roads and not for even reliability. Go for TC automatic transmission which is being used for long time, its reliable and good for Indian roads even thought it slips few mileages . The next reliable I will choose CVT followed by DCT . I am owning Honda civic 2007 model with CVT automatic Transmission, till now I didn't face any transmission issue. The engine and transmission is butter smooth after clocked 6 digit mileages. (You cant get this reliability in German engines unless you spend money and timings on it periodically. Because Germans built their engine in such a way). Recently I added XUV300 diesel engine with manual transmission. What a Torque (300NM) in the sub 4 size vehicle. I loved it :)

High powered turbos petrol engines needs quick gear changing for better response and acceleration so dsg is used, initially VW group had gearbox issues but now it's lesser as they improved it's cooling a bit. Likewise dsgs are not for everybody as it needs good care

As apart from smooth acceleration, put the gear in neutral in every signal and they move, in hilly areas try to use the paddle shifters to reduce the load on the shifters, point is since the gears are changed in milliseconds you always need to keep in mind to not to confuse the logics of the gear box.

I have skoda octavia 2013 model its done almost 1lakh 80k kms as of now, I raid max on hills and highway continuously I driven 1500kms but still now I doesn't got any single issue with my DSG, so I think its completely depending on driving behaviour.

Cvt is not a gearbox actually, it's about pulleys whose ratios are changed according to speed, and dsg mostly you will find in high power engines

Easy example to explain CVT is scooters…. Because scooters use CVT gearbox in it…. Innum deep explanation easy ah sollanumna, exactly bicycle gearbox design la represent pannalam except for belt and pulleys instead of chain and pulleys…. 🤝🤝
