I was at IM Maryland. My first loop of the run course was pretty dry. The second 2 loops were challenging. You were not able to “run” in certain sections. The flooding killed the momentum, especially late in the race when you’re hurting

IM MD. This is NOT normal. This was a King Tide and a storm that had already been thru. I did this race in 2022 and the water was no where near the road. Next year should be fine since no full super-moon.

Anne Haug - Once again, Such Bad Luck. Ironman should / could do SO MUCH BETTER to support Pros / Age Groupers who has significant mechanical. They had a whole open traffic lane to radio a moto to head back to give her a wheel / change tire. Hope She heads to Ibiza and smokes the whole field.

I agree that things can improve about support... but Anne and schwalbe are responsible for the decision to use a prototype tire in a WC which was a terrible idea, so I dont agree that was only bad luck, it was a risk badly calculated

I have a topic for your Tri To Disagree section of the channel: Having Lucy and Anne out of the race is taking away the most likely number 1 and 2 off the podium in a world championship. While this doesn’t take away Laura’s incredible performance, it does kind of leave a bad aftertaste. Is it as good of a champion if the best in the world are out of the race? I feel if I’d be in Laura’s shoes, I’d be asking myself: “Am I really the best in the world now or did I get lucky that the biggest competition was out?” What if the 10 best triathletes are out for different reasons, wouldn’t the 11th who would be crowned champion feel that they aren’t “truly” the champion, or that their field wasn’t as stacked as it had the potential to be?

Silliness. Rex’s record hasn’t been ratified yet so that seems justified. Removing fluff seems justified, as much as I like Kilian and Courtney (have they ran six days straight?). Who wouldn’t want to fluff themselves up a bit, deservingly so? Perhaps the best solution is not to allow people to modify their own pages. Writing this article seems intently harmful however not enough for defamation. She’s definitely earned her accolades. If there isn’t an ultra running Hall of Fame, create one and put them all in there. Backlash must be tough for someone with autism as well. Perhaps emotionally stunted, not seeing a problem with her own behavior, the backlash feels way worse compared to the accusations. I know I wouldn’t want to deal with that when I was focused on running Spartathlon either.
