Oh, and by the way those red balls, I believe are radicchio . Radish is a white ( or black) larger bulbous root structure of a dofferet, though related veggie.
@atoms.channel
@atoms.channel 10 ай бұрын
ummm, try again... radicchio is redish (not radish, pun intended) but leafy, akin to lettuce. Jessie had it spot on, those little red non-potatoes were indeed radishes. Maybe you were trying to be clever or like some people pointing out beets are really 'beet root', i.e. the green part is technically the "beet", and perhaps that's how 'radishes' should work too... that's how many of the taproots technically "work", but honestly you don't have to call beet roots 'beet roots', you can just call them beets - and 'radishes' radishes, and Glucose Goddesses groovy.

Can I make a smoothie out of my veggie starter? I like to blend celery, cucumbers, and an entire lemon for an awesome pre-meal veggie starter.

I just discovered you and your book. I’m almost finished reading Glucose Revolution. I am struggling try to find the best coffee creamer. I adore vanilla creamer and find half and half too thin. I’ve been using sugar feee options but just read the part of the book about how there is still sugar even in sugar free things! Hidden as other names. Is it best to use real milk creamer even if there are a few grams of sugar? Or are the dairy free oat milk or almond options the best?

Heyy Jessie. Ive been following your methods like savory breakfast and vineger water.. But the thing is Now Im having Vineger water whenever i can throught the day Cz it feels great not to be bloated. As per your guidance it should be taken 20min before meal. Im having it after meals too. Will this affect my health in someway? Thanks!

Depends on how often you're taking it. On her website there's a section that talks about a woman who took 16 tablespoons per day for a couple of years and was admitted to the hospital because of it. So that amount is too much. But if you take like 3 or 4 tablespoons per day she says you should be fine. And make sure to dilute it properly and drink with a straw to protect your teeth.

Hello, Please can I ask if malt vinegar works the same as I need to buy some white vinegar? also can you have salad as a starter on some days rather than vegetables such as broccoli... as with slimming world they recommend you eat salad or vegetables with every meal :)

Salad or veg are interchangeable as the first thing you eat. She prefers acv but said any vinegar that isn't thick and sweet works.

I just ordered the book and came here and asking the question. For the last one month i am eating overnight soaked oats(roughly 50g i guess not sure) with added apple or banana, few soaked peanuts, with 2 soaked walnuts , 2 dates and adding 1tbsp cinnamon powder. Is it good to eat ? Or should i need moderations in it. Please kindly reply to this as i am finding hard for breakfast options since i am living away from home. Thank you.

@viraatkumar3121 -- Even though your breakfast recipe you describe sounds tasty, make sure you eat some greens (veggies) and then some kind of protein, before you eat the grains/oats and fruit. I am new to this method, too, but this really is amazing way to eat. I can tell a difference in how I feel after meals. Just remember that the *order* in which you eat the different types of foods is important.

Sometimes I really crave vinegar coleslaw, would that be considered a good veggie starter before the proteins and starches? Also, would baby dill pickles be considered as a veggie starter and a vinegar hack? Thanks so Much!!!

When we go to McDonald’s, if I separate the patty from the burger and eat it first, and later I eat the bun. Then it will not spike my blood glucose right?
@madeleinegrayson8372

Lol, you don't have to wait between food items, it's just having veg/salad, then protein/fat, then starch/dessert that counts.

Jessie I have watched a bunch of food combining videos. None of them talks about timing. If you eat the foods in proper order at the same meal, they still get mixed together in the stomach. One website says eat protein for breakfast then carbs for lunch then starch for dinner. How long to wait between each category?
@madeleinegrayson8372
@madeleinegrayson8372 Жыл бұрын
That's the very old, very debunked food combining theory from the Natural Hygiene Society. I used to buy into that many years ago myself. What she advocates is much easier. Eating veg or salad first, then protein with fat, then last you have starches or dessert. It's about what hits the empty stomach first and the order in which they arrive that makes a massive difference in whether glucose spikes. It works. No need to wait. Try it and check your blood sugar, or just see how you feel.
