Great tips on the RDLS at the start, one of the only exercises that took me weeks to get the proper hang of...brilliant exercise once you do though. Anyone struggling with it just stick at it, it'll come in time, most importantly start light until you master it or you could screw your back up.

Great video as always Mike! I've also been including hip thrusts in my leg routine, what really helped me (someone else pointed that out to me) was, that I always had the bar rolled up too high towards my stomach (because of the mentioned nut protection haha). I've been rolling the bar down for a while now (towards the quads, keeping it in that position) and noticed a huge increase in comfort and weight. Not sure if you've already been doing this, really helped me. Now it's one of my favorite leg exercises.

A good prompt for RDL's is to think you're going to sit back in a chair. Another tip I found is that I used to get crazy lower back pumps while using a belt. Once I stopped using the belt they went away.

Thank you heaps for sharing all the knowledge. It helps me greatly. I do have a question, may I? It's about nutrition. What is better for the body (/metabolism): A) cut calories by for example 500. No exercise B) Cut calories by 250 and by exercise burn another 250. (I know B helps (/can help) burn extra calories after the work-out.) Which of the two is the best to keep your metabolism as high as possible (to burn as much as possible)? Thank you in advance!

If you want to get more stretch on the lying leg curl, rest on your elbows rather than having your chest flat to the bench. It also helps isolate the hamstring more

Mike, when doing those Bulgarian split squads, doesn't the top of your foot hurt after you have them positioned like that on the bench? It hurt my foot tremendously, and I figured out that having my feet touching the bench with only the toes does reduce the pain, but I wanted to ask you if you have any other recommendations since it still isn't painless for me

I don’t understand why people go so heavy on the RDL ? Your form is off . You will probably not even read this but, If you would like to go heavy on such a movement pattern then you should do a stiff legged deadlift, which is identical to the RDL but the only difference is the weight touches the ground. Your RDL looked wrong when you increased the weight, it looked like a hybrid between RDL and SDL and CDL. There is no need to go so deep, a little passed the knee is sufficient, and I recommend people not widening their stance so much with this movement . Keep it shoulderwidth/narrow . What makes the conventional DL different from both of these movements is the placement of the arms in relation to the knee and the slighter bend in knee. The CDL requires grip just outside of knee while RDL and SDL grip is IN FRONT of the knee. I recommend people to search Alan Thrall who is the only person who explains this fact.
