The Taylor Swift branded fountain pen cost $15. This Harrod's one, similar in many ways, costs $32. And it's rather blah🤧.

I wouldn’t buy this pen on principle. It is associated with a company (aka Horrids) which promotes much that is wrong with the world … greedy materialism.

Tacky and cheap. Unlike Harrods, which is tacky and expensive.

It's personally not my style and I wouldn't buy it myself, but if this pen (or even the Taylor Swift pen) gets people excited about and into fountain pens, I see it as a big win for the community as a whole. And besides, we all have different preferences and budget - absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Nice review! It kind of reminds me of the Oxford Helix fountain pen (made in China), although it's in a more upmarket guise. The Helix I have happens to be a very pleasant writer, so cheap and cheerful. Do you think it might be manufactured in the same factory? Those Waterman long cartridges are indeed very useful, as they hold so much ink. In a way I prefer them to the international standard piston converters for the very reason. Yes, this pen will happily take those. Thank you very much indeed for your videos!

Had the green one and I ended up giving it away. The coating on the trims started peeling pretty badly.

I remember when I was young, getting lost EVERY time my mother took me to Harrods. I gained quite a reputation. "Will the mother of Pip please come and pick up your son, again?"

In many instances it is the name that matters to many people rather than the performance of what was purchased. Years ago people were walking around with a Harrod's paper bag as a status symbol. It was the name more than anything else. I would agree that the pen reminds me of Chinese pens, perhaps Hero or Picasso. These are very good pens and if you can get past the lack of the famous name, you can get a very similar pen for probably less money. What's in a name?

It’s the sort of pen I’d put back in the boxes it came with, wrap in some nice tissue paper/wrapping paper and give it to my daughter.
