@@rogers1609 Yes it was given to the whole of mankind BY India. Yoga originated in India around 3000 BC. It was first organized into a practice by the ancient Indian sage Patanjali. Respecting and acknowledging the history of a practice is as important as respecting the practice itself. Thank you Namaste :)

So glad you helped me retrieve this gem of a class Andrew! I find this practice incredibly powerful despite its apparent simplicity: the first time I practiced it some months ago, it knocked me down and I had to take a long nap. I could really feel the deep benefits of it. And I think it's a fantastic practice for Vata dosha especially! With our thin bone structure and airy quality!!! Loved it, and have flagged it to practice it regularly. Thanks as usual for putting such a fantastic content for us!

Yes! This is the best practice for Vata people! In fact it's called the "Pawana Mukta Asana Series" Pawana means "wind", just like Vata means wind or air. Mukta means liberating or releasing And Asana means postures. So this is precisely the series of postures for releases excess air from the system ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hi Andrew, Could you speak more about this wind energy?
@RefeelYoga3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathy, I will try my best ;) "Pawana" is one of the Sanskrit words for wind, air or gas, and this series is designed to release this energy or element from the body. In this case, especially from the joints. In the digestive system wind causes poor or irregular digestion, think of excessive flatulence or difficulty with regular bowel movements. In the joints and muscles too much wind can cause inflammation and immobility, such as arthritis and other rheumatic disorders. And in the nervous system too much wind can cause a variety of mental disorders, from forgetfulness all the way to the extremes of schizophrenia. In Ayurveda this energy is referred to as "Vata", the air element. Ayurveda is a huge and beautiful system of knowledge, science and nutrition, this I, personally, feel a lot of resonance with. If you want to learn more about this energy and how one could balance it, I would definitely recommend you to do a little search into Ayurveda and the qualities associated with Vata Dosha 💖

Wonderful Florenz! If you found it challenging, that means there is much potential for growth 😉 And yes, definitely some similarities with Tai Chi, as we're really trying to move with the flow of Prana or Chi.

What a coincidence! I was looking for some gentle practice to perform, and when I opened KZbin, I saw this one. So I did it 😃. It’s just perfect! I used to have “tennis elbow “ syndrome. Chiropractic treatment helped to cure it, but sometimes I still feel it. I found this practice very beneficial for my elbow as well as for my knees. Every movement they sound like velcro 😂. Energywise, I feel warmed up and relaxed. Thank you, Andrew! 🙏😊🙏 One question: my 14 years old son has hypertonic calf muscle. Do you thing this practice will be appropriated for him? Thanks again! 🙏😊💓 P.S. Did you get my reply of your reply of day 6 of challenge? Hope my question is not too confusing 😊😅
