Omg 😮 I am not one to comment normally but this instructor is worth her weight in gold. The difference in storm from the start to the end was huge. Gabby you got thrown a lot of information and as a rider you handled it so well and to see the difference in your position and communication to storm was magical to watch. I can’t wait for tomorrow. Take a pat on the back Gabby your progression in just one lesson was awesome 👏

Here is something to remember as well. They last show was just before COVID=19 lockdown. And once we could, we stated up again with our coaches. But that is totally different than the atmosphere of a show. There you and your horse are dealing with bells whistles or even air horns to start the class, plus all the different riders, most are paying attention, but some are not, also all the smells that are different from home. They are also coping with Stresses as well. These horses are so HAPPY to be back on a course, you can't fault them or the riders either. Stay Safe, friend, Jenn.

This is EXACTLY what Gabby AND Sophie need! (Sorry if I spelled names wrong) I like Fiona and Brandon but I feel like a trainer like this would get then farther. I have gave lessons before and still do and if you push them to do harder exercises so they get better. Riding isn’t really about going out and walk trot canter a lap then jump. The hard exercises make you a better rider. Trust me I know from experience. Anyone agree? I would like to know your opinions too!

When you have a horse that is on the lazy side it is all about getting the horse forward first of all and everything else will fall into place your instructor is correct. Mine is the same we joke he needs a firework set up behind him sometimes so we work on transitions and often go straight to canter and open up down the long sides it takes time but if gabby sticks with this storm will start to go more forward, you can see results at the end of this lesson! Because of storms breeding and training he does have a tendency to ‘lope’ and almost look like he could break into trot but there was progress by the end of this! I remember speaking to a top show horse producer who said they had to make the horse enjoy and want to go forwards - it’s much better than constantly nagging. Regardless a big well done you guys did really well!

I never comment on things ever but I’m actually very very experienced and have trained lots of horses and children’s for hunters. Please don’t force a horse to do something he doesn’t enjoy. There could be a different discipline that the horse may enjoy more than jumping. He looks very unhappy. It’s not fair for your daughter either. Also the crop. The crop is a great tool when used appropriately and a light rub behind the leg will do it. A hard smack about on the shoulder. The horse can’t relate that to his brain and doesn’t know what she is asking

Cathy Inch (is a legend in the hunter/jumper world) was 300% right. (So glad you got the chance to get a clinic from her, she's awesome, did some finding to see who it was.)Storm needs to learn to get going, the slow poke routine isn't going to be acceptable for much longer! If the kids have passion and drive to succeed they will absorb all this like a sponge. It's great critique and she's right Gabby is at a point where she needs to focus on going forward, come in 'hot'. Props to all the kids because it was a bugger of a hot day. The crossing of the hand, i see where your coach is coming from and i get Cathy is coming from. An indirect rein can be useful but at the same time it can be a confusing message or turn into a bad habit. I was so happy to see storm moving and gabby driving him!! YES! Excellent Content today and lots of wonderful learning!!! YAY !!!!

I absolutely love this video. But in my own personal opinion, I think Gabby should start liberty work with Storm. It'll help him learn Gabby's body signs and build a stronger bond. It would be really nice to see her not use whip to get him going. I use to work in a breeding stable and I would use liberty to gain the trust of the horses I was working with. And with time, with certain gestures or noises, the horses would do exactly as I wanted. Even if I was on their back. I don't disapprove of anything but I think Storm doesn't COMPLETELY trust Gabby. I mean yeah he trusts her but if she worked with him more with Liberty Training, I could see them doing amazing things in the future with an even stronger bond.

Its sad that she can't do this on Chino but it is really teaching gabby to really work with storm and the instructor is amazing she is so straight to the point which is great
