Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, the crew gets another opportunity to test out our new 2024 Western Star 49X with a Miller Industries, Century 9055XL. The 9055XL is a 50 ton integrated (non-rotating) 3-stage boom. The XL is for Extra Long reach and has the same capacity as the standard 50T 3-stage. A customer calls us to tow one of their trucks off the interstate ramp after it went into "limp" mode. This is just a standard, everyday tow, but many viewers have asked for this type of video. So, I use the new Western Star 9055XL and I show off the new Feniex lighting package with the ability to switch between red & blue lights while on the shoulder to amber lights for towing. I also play around with a new camera mount for some different video shots. Hope you enjoy them. So far, I am loving this truck and what it can do!!! Thank you, God, for blessing our family and our business. Watch as we continue to receive God's blessings. There is much more to come!!! I hope you enjoy this video!!!
We have a difficult and dangerous job and we take it very seriously, that doesn't mean we can't have fun and enjoy our work. We strive to be polite, professional, efficient, and safe...and still can have fun. I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

Good morning Ron! Turning around in that area is dangerous, but being under the truck pulling the driveshaft on the side of the ramp is also dangerous! One of those options is dangerous for a shorter period of time so I would say you made the better decision. Good work!

I've been driving commercially and operating heavy equipment since 1987. I've only been doing towing for 6 years and absolutely love it. I drive a peterbilt 379 with a 50 ton Miller wrecker. I discovered Ron's channel about 7 months ago and have learned a whole lot of tricks and tips. I wish I lived in his city I would stop by to put in an application. He's a very good teacher. I'm 59 and never too old to learn.

Honestly Ron, you have done an impressive job with the turnaround. Even before you commented on it, I was able to see your thinking of getting into full line of sight with the traffic before starting the turn to your advantage and warning them as well. The time it took you to whip that truck around that tiny spot was absolutely insane. I believe you made the best decision for the the situation you were presented with.

Light bar in the back and checked if working properly, 2. secure the steering wheel under the seat at the bottom base of the seat, (because of air ride seats )3. Walk around... windows are up, Hookups are good & secure, tie down chains are good, breakaways are in place & fastened, both axils are chained up, Driver's side door shut, hood latched both sides, light bar secured and on, wind fairing secure, axils chained up on passenger side. Ready to go... Like the new rear tow view & ride too...!!!

Love the new truck! Great video! As a 12 year veteran of the fire service, I know emergency lighting can be a big part of scene safety, with the new feniex lighting, I recommend looking up the NFPA standard for emergency lighting and other studies. Those studies show slower and fuller light patterns when on scene are safer because they don’t have a “sense of urgency”. Slower light patterns are “calmer” to the human eye. Fast and random patterns are get for attention getting when responding, but once on scene a slower, calmer pattern is better. There is a effect known as the bug zapper effect, essentially it’s when you have quick lighting patterns, other motorist get distracted by them and loose focus on the roadway, sometimes resulting in a secondary accident. For example your current feniex lightbars are set to, what Feniex calls their “Attack” pattern. It’s excellent for response but once on scene they also have patterns were the 60in lightbar will alternate half and half. I’m not sure how this truck is wired, but it’s fairly easy to change the patterns. KZbin will have videos on the light patterns Feniex offers. It’s hard to explain, but I highly recommend reading the studies out there on emergency lights. I know this is a long comment, but very helpful! Stay safe Ron!

Just ignore the people that criticize. They don’t realize what you have to do and how you have to be safe. I enjoy watching you because of the way you talk about your workers and work well with them and explain everything you do and while you’re doing it.

The big jobs are exciting, but to see you take joy in the “bread and butter” work is great. Good example of using the gifts and skill set God gave you for His glory! And if you are taking a poll, I prefer the front bumper view over the rear facing. Both are good, but that’s my preference. Thanks, Ron. God Bless!!

@@RonPratti know you can not control the jobs you get but that would be amazing to get both the big trucks out together.

That was an interesting view. I'll admit. I'm glad everyone is doing ok down there, Ron. That kind of sucks but you can only do so much.
