Technically he was right about there being an entity that can bestow and transfer powers. But the Shinigami have different motivations. Ryuk wants entertainment so he doesn’t care what Light does with it. Rem cares about Miss so she’ll do anything to protect her. The Shinigami cannot be caught and don’t care if they are, so in a away, L is being played for a fool

Interesting theory about shinigami being humans who used the death note. There's actually a fan theory that is basically that. The relation between shinigami and humans is complex. Some of the death note side stories say that some humans are born with shinigami eyes...

Yes. Which L found comforting. Because if Light is Kira, L has a good chance of stopping him. But if Kira is some unknowing presence that just switches hosts... you can never actually catch them. So L was comforted by Light confirming that if he were Kira, he would have been the one in control, not something else controlling his actions. Granted there are Shinigami to factor in, but L doesn't want to believe in them, because how would you stop a god of death.

The biggest reason why people didn't like Netflix's live action Death Node was that it very much wasn't Death Note, the characters might've had similar names to our cast here, but they act fundamentally differently, and the conflict isn't really cat & mouse mindgames between a mass murderer and a master detective. It's not badly shot, and if I remember correctly also not badly acted. I'd say the adaptation is more justifiable than most anime to live action stuff we've seen since it adds value by not being Death Note the anime, but shittier, however I think they underestimated the WHY people enjoyed Death Note, and that by fundamentally giving a less serious type of movie, you kinda lose the fanbase, as they don't really get much of that magic that was Death Note. If they hadn't called it Death Note, or maybe called it like A Death Note Story, changed the characters names, and done it like that? I imagine it would've been way better received. It's not really a good idea to try capitalize on a fanbase, while at the same time absolutely not trying to give them what they were looking for.

I love to watch others watch an anime. You point things out that i did not catch. And while i know what will happen i now view it with more backstory. With more moments like "damn so even this is part of the plan" spoiler: Especialy how you point out that L knows that Light is not Kira anymore. He askes what Light would have done and Light gives the TOTAL plan away. With this all in mind the "let me clean youre feat Light" moment hits different. L knows the risk Light took and how far he had planed ahead. The moment that L thinks Light is Kira AGAIN... its over... L, right now, knowes he has ONE chance.

I'm not sure that L stopped suspecting light, rather, he switched his attention to the Higuchi.This is part of Light's plan, thereby he confuses L and he will no longer be able to think the same way.L needs a death note , needs strength that kills and Higuchi is the only easy target for this.L needs to be immersed in a new case, and even if he's not interested in Higuchi as a killer because his goal is not so destructive, he still has to investigate the case and spend his energy on it.L will not be able to ignore Higuchi and will have to catch him one way or another, and he will not have time for Light .I have to give him credit, L still suspected him and tested him, but it's too little and he won't get anywhere that way.Light is in a very cunning position, it's like he's not involved or anything, and he constantly accuses L of holding them without proof. Light also often emphasizes that L is holding them and this makes L even more doubt himself and his abilities. L is in a very difficult position. We do not know what methods he used in his work, so it is impossible to say how his attitude to ight changed.The main unresolved problem is not only to find a weapon, to understand the rules, but also to find the killer.This is still an unanswered question. In fact, L constantly doubted himself and his conclusions, in addition to the suspect, and here light added fuel to the fire even more.Although he constantly suspects Light, we cannot say that this is the killer, and L cannot.Whether it was intuition or not, because I don’t see other explanations, this is a very delicate work, but no details were shown, which is a pity.I think it seemed to many that L was confident in his conclusions about the Light, but it only seems. Please follow up Death Note with Code Geass. I cannot spoil why, but there is a very good and long-standing reason throughout the show why it’s good to watch back-to-back specifically with Death Note, and it would be best to watch it while Death Note is still fresh for you two.

For your statement saying if a shinigami dies then they would go to heaven, i have to disagree with that. Remember one of the key consequences of the death note? Ryuk told light that “anyone who uses a death note can neither go to heaven nor hell for eternity”. So if a human were to die, theoretically they could become a shinigami, but if a shinigami were to save someone else, i dont think they would go anywhere after that. I think it would just be the case of being erased from existence forever, like a second death but more permanent. Heaven and hell is a final destination for a human, but the shinigami realm acts more like a realm of nothingness rather than purgatory. The use of the death note prevents you from going to either heaven and hell, so there would be no need to go to purgatory, but rather going to an unknown place of nothingness which, in this case, is the shinigami realm. But its not really confirmed whether or not humans who use the notebook become shinigamis, but its still a plausible theory.
