We used these shoe hangers to organize art supplies at my old job, can’t believe I never thought of this for recording gear! Smart. I am currently lucky enough to have a separate studio space and pegboard works really well to hang the larger stuff in whatever way you want - great for garages. Keep up the good work!

This was a total accident. That's a great tip, re: pegboard. Thanks for watching and will do!
@godofspacetime3333 жыл бұрын
I just spent 12 hours cleaning and organizing, and the only thing left was what to do with my cables. I didn’t really want to put a bunch of pegs in the wall, so this is perfect!
@424Recording3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I know what you mean, Godof. I faced a similar issue, I started hanging some cables in my closet and this is way better and easier in a lot of ways! Cheers and congrats on the cleanup
@joaoantoniovione4843 жыл бұрын
I did the same with some over the door hook racks... There's one where I coil mic cables and leave the other end in the mixer; another for instrument cables, patch cords, phones and what have you. But damn this looks so much neater! Let alone, no cable entanglement.

great idea Mike - I estimate I've spent 25% of my life hunting for, and untangling leads!

I use one of those too. I was going to use it for shoes. But it turned out to be for kids shoes. It is really handy for cables, phone chargers, etc.

Same here. This one is bigger and I have some shoes near the bottom but I started randomly putting some stuff in the pockets one day and the next thing I knew, here we are haha

I mean, that's cool and all, but my overflowing drawer and under the desk are working good. It's cool because when I pull out a cable it's connected to the other cable, and that can lead me to the mic cable I lost a week ago. And that spare power brick for the Dr Rhythm is tangled in there too so, I mean, those RCA to 1/4" jumpers are probably in the center of that mass, and then it runs out down the back of the drawer into the spaghetti western of my floor, between those surge protectors right? I know one of them is plugged in, but the lights burned out so I don't know which, but yeah, the monitors are running in there too...I think.

I like hanging things up... alright Mike, how many? 😂 I have all my stuff in the drawers and it's pretty messy but we don't have any closets like that with doors to spare... I guess there will be mess
@424Recording3 жыл бұрын
Hahahaha I realized that the way I said that was strange but there was nothing I could do about it! It's a lot easier to hang stuff then keep it in those cases, because you can see what you have. I assume your drawers are a similar situation! That sounds like lyrics "I guess there will be mess"
@joaoantoniovione4843 жыл бұрын
As far as other organizing tips, 80's SOS and other rec mags (there's so much to find on webarchive!) suggested coat hangers and wrapping cables w/ a loop of rope. Velcro ties are neat too. I used to have a double bed, and tucked cymbal and mic stands, all sorts of things in the auxiliary bed. Nice to use ballasts as a display for over the door gadgets, esp. when you have more than one... Oh well, maybe I should (re)start my yt channel to develop on that subject xDdD
@424Recording3 жыл бұрын
Oh, cool, I need to check those out! I have those orange cable cuffs that work well for cables. You can see them in one of the pockets. I'm curious... maybe I'm not sure what a double bed is? How did you tuck things? Like in the box spring section? Do it, re: channel!
@joaoantoniovione4843 жыл бұрын
@@424Recording sorry, I was referring to a pull-out bed but wasn't sure of the translation. So I took the mattress off the lower one and laid stuff in there, like a 6 ft. drawer...
