My 1993 front brake caliper is sticking and the piston has white erosion on it, I put it in diesel fuel and sanded it and it worked better but still sticks, what other calipers will fit this bike? Will Honda dirt bike calipers fit it? I would like to rebuild it or replace it, but the official Honda brake caliper is 550 dollars, a rebuild kit is 40-70 dollars, I would like to be able to use the one I have since it works other than sticking, it sat in a garage for 20 years plus and it worked fine for about 150 miles and about 20-50 pills then it started sticking and eventually stuck so bad it wouldn't release

Take the caliper off and open the bleeder push the pistons in and put new pads on reinstall and try them again if they still stick then rebuild the caliper.

Hi Tony, I saw your video, and like you I like to get my hands dirty ... I would like to restore my 1997 Honda CN 250. I am currently having problems with the brake caliper that remains stuck on the brake disc. I have already overhauled the brake pump and the brake caliper. I have a suspicion about the LINK, TORQUE and BRACKET COMP., L.F. bushings in the manual, however, I cannot find any indications on the permitted movements ... do you know if these must remain stationary or can they oscillate laterally?? @@marianoroma972 on my 93 I can take the caliper off without taking the wheel off on my wife’s 2000 I have to take the wheel off to get caliper off. There are slide pins that let the caliper move side to side make sure it slides freely. You say you rebuilt the caliper you might have a o-ring that rolled when u put the pistons back in. You have to put a little lube on the pistons before you install them so the o- ring don’t roll

@@1tonysgarage Mine is the 97 Italian version ... I can remove the caliper without removing the wheel. I did what you say, and I did a test before installing the caliper. Connected only the brake hose and moved the pistons slightly, then put them back releasing the pressure to install on the disc. I also overhauled the pump. I will try to clean it again ... thanks

My 1993 has 4k miles been sitting since 1995 in a garage and I got it two months ago and the brake started sticking about 50-100 miles into using it. They worked well slightly squealing making noise from I think the rust on them from sitting, then they the caliper stuck and I noticed white erosion on the outside of the piston edge you can see and I removed it sanded and soaked in diesel and it worked better but still sticks, what should I do?

You will probably have to put new pistons in it. Get them from a Honda dealer and also get the o-rings that go in there.

Good morning Tony! My caliper pistons wont retract.. I've pulled it apart, cleaned it, put new pads on it and it they're still sticking. What should i do!!

@@aarons3501 did you open bleeder valve? You might have to get new pistons and rebuild caliper. Make sure bleeder is open when trying to push pistons in
