I found this video helpful as a 1st time hot tub owner (2020 hotspring, hot spot 6 person). The pump made a big difference cleaning vs basic draining with a hose. I preferred the wider tube hose connector to the flat hose. I also purchased some of the suggested accessories thanks to your videos 😊

Hi Jeff, I just wanted to take the time out of my day to tell you I’ve had my first hot tub for about a month now and I love it. I’ve been doing a great job at keeping the water balanced and I’ve learned so much from your videos, thank you but I also live in Northeast PA, where it gets really cold in the winter time I know you’re in Texas and it doesn’t really get that cold there but if you could make a video about tips for your hot tub in the winter time, that would be awesome!

Thank you for this video, especially about water temp to start and the air temp affecting the heat up time.

Great video Jeff! I use a little baking soda on a sponge to clean my hot tub then rinse it off and use the wet vac to suck up that water before refilling,

Hey Jeff, I've seen some people talk about needing to put in a Bromine Booster when refilling the tub. Doesn't sound like that is something that's necessary though. Just make sure the Alkalinity and PH are set and put in the Bromine floater and let it do it's work.

Awesome! Subbed and Thumbs up! Should you empty and re fill every 3 months? Is that best practices? tks

What is your opinion of enzyme based spa maintenance systems?

I have difficulty in reading a test strip the colors are difficult to determine and match the label. Is there a digital tester that you would recommend. One that gives recommendation for balancing water chemistry. I use bromine tablets. I have a 210 gallon inflatable spa indoors in a sun room.

I disagree with the "not having to treat new water".. maybe it's different in texas but the water here in Alberta is quite hard. I always start with a 100 ml of stain/scale, 1/2 a large capful of chlorine & 2 caps of shocker.. I do have a floater for chlorine tablets & a mineral cartridge that sits in one of the filter housings. I do not install the mineral cartrigde until it's up to temp though. The other chemicals, I don't add until the water temp is at least 70. My fill water temp was closer to 38-40 deg.

This is going to be my first winter with a hot tub. The one question I have and cannot seem to get a good answer on is: How do I keep the water from freezing in the plumbing while the jets are not running 24 x 7. My hot tub is right around 2250 gallons and has two pumps that have knobs to divert water from the swim portion to the seat portion. Do those both just need to be turned to the middle while not in use with the water features on enough to have water trickling out all the time?

late but I keep mine at 100c all year round. Hope this helps someone else.

Do you fill it any special way or just put the hose in? I heard things about air pockets in jets if not filled correctly?

Fill into the holes where the filters are.

What is the black stuff floating around in the hot tub at the end?
@KBradAdams Жыл бұрын
I asked the same thing. Are we the only ones seeing this?
@jamesg87127 күн бұрын
Why aren't you refilling the water using the filter compartment? Water should always be added using that way.

What ingredients are in the oh yuk product? Website says... All Oh Yuk products are manufactured in the USA and are always responsibly sourced, ethically created and never tested on animals. but they never tell what exactly is in it? Oh Yuk products use a variety of non-hazardous surfactants and other ingredients to improve stability and performance. None of this tells me anything about what is in it?

That's a long time to heat up. My hot tub goes from 75 degrees to 97 degees where i like it. in 2.5 hours at 20 degrees out and covered in snow. From Massachusetts.

97?, that's not even body temperature

Why wouldn't you clean all the black specks out of your tub, appears to me this is not a very good clean job. I take off my shoes and socks and roll up my pants get in the tub and actually clean it.
