The Crow is one of the most tragic after effects of Destiny’s story telling. His story starts really with Forsaken and Uldren’s Death which is gone, and then all of his storylines are in seasons which have / will be vaulted. He’s one of the most well-developed characters story-wise but it’s just totally missing to most players

Remember, though ahamkara feed on the difference in what was wished and what was granted, it does not have to be negative. Riven learned this from her mate and I think she may actually return Cayde-6 out of kindness.

I kind of love the writing of that if it is influenced by Riven granting Crow's wish, particularly if she did so benevolently. Cayde was killed as the result of Riven manipulating Uldren. Now Cayde is revived by the same thing.

@@mafu290 Why? Crow has a ghost so even when Cayde shoots him Glint will bring him back. And that would have even more potential, like Cayde sees his murderer and shoots him, sees a Ghost bringing him back, which in turn shows Cayde that Crow is not Uldren since Guardians loose their memories and then Cayde helps Crow on his feet after Glint pulled him back.

My guess is that since Riven was already dead and could not be restored, and Ahamkara feed on granting wishes, that powerful wish spoken from the deepest emotion of a regretful guardian, could have been used to feed one of, if not all of, her found Ahamkara eggs and helped to hatch at least one of them, (again, if not all of them).

I've always been a believer that the inside of the traveller is where dead guardians go to (kinda like a Valhalla). I believe that this is how cayde-6 (and maybe others, such as Joxer) will be brought back into the game. I don't think that they will be able to leave the traveller when we do though, as technically the ones already inside the traveller are dead (if my theory is correct)

Riven impersonating Mara and Crow to not notice it is a huge plot hole in my opinion. Isn't that great Brother-Sister-Connection the sole reason why Crow is the one who was send through the portal? Fully expecting Crow to sacrifice everything in a way to bring Cayde back. Either by somehow giving his ghost to Cayde OR by changing places with Cayde. Or fully sacrifice his life in some deux ex machina situation that gives Cayde a new chance.

I think when Crow made that wish as unintended as it was. Riven made it so he got that chance, Cayde was already in the pale heart, but Riven open a way and made it so only Crow could go, which would fullfill the wish. Not really sure what twist Riven put on it though.

Appreciate the breakdown on this. As someone who is genuinely not excited about Cayde-6 return i think this context is helpful. I still feel like bringing back Cayde (even if this is the end of this saga in the game) feels gimmicky/nostalgia bait. At the end of the day we will have to play TFS to see how Bungie handles the storyline but definitely super low on my priority list in terms of what im looking for from TFS.

There's evidence of ahamkara in the pale heart, seen in trailers and the name of an enemy in a prismatic trailer showcase. Crow has definitely wished for cayde to come back but theres no way of knowing if Riven has any influence over the Pale Heart itself. That being said she can wish someone into it. The only thing that makes me think wishing him back to life won't be how he returns is that its from a single Lore card in a seasonal story. Sure the seasonal lore has implications in the playable story (Torobatl mainly) but returning to 'key events happening only in Lore' seems like a step back

I dont know if you have played FF14 but this is small spoiler from Endwalker expansion. The final area in the expansion, ultima thule is a manifestation of the anatagonist's memories. She manifests vestiges of planets she visited and saw the destruction of. This whole space is a small subspace in the universe under her jurisdiction. The places is populated with citizens of those planets. She describes it as a place where death reigns supreme and has granted the universe the final destination. I feel there are so many similarities between whats happening inside the travler, witness and ultima thule, mention. I mention that because I can see the similarities and how your prediction regarding Cayde's resurrection come true. Just happy to see 2 of my fav games going teaching people the same lesson regarding death. lol.

IMHO, the catch will not so much about Riven being benevolent or malicious... I think even Ahamkara do not posess the power that is required to overwhelm the Traveller or the rules inside of it. As many others have said, I imagine the catch is that Cayde will only exist inside there and will not be able to leave.
