Building good habits with ADHD can be a challenge. ADHD is associated with deficits in executive function, which makes it harder for us to stick to things over a long period of time. Here, I share five pieces of ADHD-friendly advice that's helped me stick to good habits with ADHD as a medical doctor in the NHS and a PhD Student at Oxford University.

Hi, I am only a couple of minutes in and O absolutely love this video. I am currently waiting for my ADHD assessment through right to choose that is coming up in August and I realised I most likely have ADHD about a year ago. Since then I have done tonnes and tonnes of research, both online through KZbin and podcasts as well as books. I am currently reading Atomic Habits (just finished Chapter 8) and wanted to see how other people with ADHD utilise the text to improve their lives. Thank you so much for the great content, I will be definitely be watching more of your videos. You’ve got yourself a subscriber! Inshallah more people discover your channel and your work!

Hey Delia, Atomic Habits is a really great resource - I’m glad you enjoyed my take on the book, and it’s application to ADHD. If you enjoyed Atomic Habits, I’d definitely check out Life Leverage by Rob Moore- this book really helped me play to my unfair advantages with ADHD, and made me see time differently. It’s okay that we’re distracted, but it means we have to be super diligent with the rest of our time, and make sure we’re working on the right things. We can only achieve 1-4 big things in our life, and it’s important to have a good probability of succeeding a priori.

This video is honestly amazing! I am struggling so much with my ADHD and you explaining how working on multiple things at once helps with your desire to task switch whilst also staying productive speaks to me greatly. Keep up the work. Really inspired.
