How beautiful in the bamboo grove!! Yes, early in the morning when it's empty would be amazing! The world of zen. Vivid green. Rickshaws. Commuter train. Mountains. Ohhhhh, bamboo forest is magnificent surrounding the shrine. YAY, Satoshi! Quiet is amazing.

I've been to Arashiyama's Bamboo Forest "almost" 3x. Two times I arrived before 7:30AM (mid April 2017 and Oct 2018). Practically empty...I had the path all to myself the majority of the time with a few people strolling in here and there. The almost 3rd time was around 10:30AM in late April 2018 and barely could walk through at the entry point by the food stands/main road. It was a crawl going in that I turned around after 10 minutes. Let's just say I didn't get past those homes/shops from the beginning of the path. LOL. So yes...get there before 7:30AM if you want to take nice pictures. Then take a nice stroll through the park from the back part of the forest when done towards the rive. Nice!

My wife and I were at the Bamboo Forest in 2018. We went early before the crowds at around 7am. We started our walk from the neighborhood streets. It was the most our tranquil and interesting walk ever. Can't wait to go there again.

so far you are the only one who has said they miss the tourists, and I'm kind of glad for that..so many people are kind of mean about it on youtube. I also live in a tourist heavy city, so I get it sometimes it's frustrating but it seems like my favorite japanese vloggers don't want us to come back. That's kind of sad to me.

How nice to go there when it isn't crowded! We've been there a few times, and I'm always overwhelmed by how many tourists there are! My wife and I decided to get off the beaten path and walk in the nearby neighborhoods and really enjoyed the tranquility of the area. There's so much to see! Thanks for the videos :)

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest is always my first place to visit when I visit Kyoto. I was last there in late February and the place was already empty. It was magical without the throng of tourists 🥰 Yearning to return; hopefully in the not too distant future. Thanks for helping me relive my happy moments! 😊

I was just there this February 2020 with my two daughters. We arrived at Arashiyama very late .First we took a walk along the main street .Then we went to the grove. It was empty so we could walk freely and enjoy the peaceful scenery of bamboos and take a lot pictures for reminding in the future. You with this video makes me travel again to the place.Thank you Shinichi. It's really beautiful.

Taking me back to our visit. So beautiful. Loved discovering the bamboo grove. We went early in the morning at about 7am (we would go earlier again next time!😊) We took the path to the right at the end of the video and it led us to a quiet area where there was a beautiful pond and a small shrine. And if you kept following the steps up and prepare for a very steep climb up the hill is one of the best views of the city. An unexpected discovery that made our trip so memorable ❤ miss Japan so much

I went here once, I believe last year (or the year before) in May. Walking from Torokko Arashiyama Station, through the Bamboo Forest and the park, down to the Katsura River, making my way to the monkey park. Along the way I had some Tempura Udon at Kameyamaya, as I avoided the shops/restaurants near the bridge as it was very crowded. Lovely route.

Oh, this was great. I loved how peaceful it was. And it truly was beautiful. I didn't realize how tall the Bamboo grew. That was amazing. The bark of the Bamboo in the video looked kind of blue-ish. I was wondering if that was a function of shadows, or if it really is kind of blue. Anyway, I quite enjoyed the walk. Thank you for taking us along.

We went once even @ 9am to go to the Okochi Sanso Garden which i think is amazing, the bamboo grove was pretty busy by then. Tenryuji temple is very good too, it has a waterfall with a symbolic koi swimming up it.

Thank you for this video. It's still on my bucket list though it's uncertain when I get ever chance to visit. You two are so gorgeous. It must be nice to have someone who keeps one on direction and also is a stable like satoshi is for you. But maybe head your way next time even if get off track. I remember watching a video in the rain and you had a tough time with the umbrella on the crowded paths. Indeed , such oasis of silence are necessary in the busy daily life. Just walking there listen to the wind in the bamboo and hear the pepples and sand of the path would be a nice experience. But being up before 8am is such a pain. Haha. Anyways. Yes, I like to see city and location strolls. But you do a great job with the diversity of your channels and updates. Stay safe.

Don't know whether to be sad or happy. Shinichi, you said you love moss. Me too. Wonder if you will have time to visit Saihō-ji, the Buddhist Temple better known as Koke-dera (Moss Temple)? I thought it was a magic place. You do have to book well in advance (only by letter) so maybe when you next come to Kyoto you and Satoshi could take us there? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYSthYJrmq6UhNk I was there in the Spring - would love to see it in autumn.
