One thing that C.S. Joseph mentioned that is super helpful to me (INFJ) is that our Ti child function will alienate us from making friends (in another video of his). When tempted to use Ti child, be social instead! This is one of the most helpful pieces of advice given to be as an INFJ. I wanted to give a concrete example. If someone is drinking beer with CBD oil, popular here in Wisconsin, I would be tempted to say to the person "That might be fake oil, the bar is charging you for real CBD oil". Instead of getting stuck on something like this (Ti child) I would just says cheers and toast mugs! I believe this is what C.S. Joseph meant when he said this. I almost need a Ti child support group because it does alienate us if we use it too much. Thank you C.S. Joseph for this, I might actually gain more friends.
@felixthecat27865 жыл бұрын
Wow thanks for sharing this. I had absolutely no idea that I was doing this at all. I had an abusive, tumultuous, and traumatic child and I think that I overdeveloped my introverted intuition and introverted thinking because that was where my brain went to cope. I notice myself still doing this these days when I am feeling down or lost in my own life. It's just so easy to get sucked right into that as a way to feel better about the things that bring me down. Sometimes I literally don't want to be around people at all and would rather focus on the intellectual things that I'm interested in. I didn't know that this was handicapping me in such a way.
@midnightgaming.91624 жыл бұрын
right yes. go with the flow. if they are poisoning themselves, they would be to dumb to want to be saved so, you continue to let them bond and suffer together. I think the social ones have this need to be around another and maintain the glue that keeps the current group together. So ask yourself do you want to fit in or do you want to save all their lives so they live long enough to resent you for threatening the glue.. This is what is really happening when we swoop in on a group project and solve in 10 seconds what took 4 minds and four hours to still not come to a solution to. Plus, they were all just bonding about how stupid they are and using this waste of time, energy, and brain power (4 fkn heads) to chat about celebs, Taylor Swift or the new Starbucks down the block. This is not place for you, just leave them alone and go. The more you leave them behind the closer you may come to types who will appreciate you.

A hedgehog was scurrying about in the bushes, and my ex's best friend was like: "What are you doing, hedgehog? It's nighttime, why aren't you sleeping?" I replied, in what I BELIEVED to be a helpful and sympathetic tone: "Well, hedgehogs are nocturnal, so it's quite natural that it's up and active now." My ex got real mad... I just assumed it was my autistic tendencies to not pick up on subtle jokes and take things literally that was showing through, but could Ti child be another way of looking at it?

That's crazy! I totally agree with you about them having the most unadulterated form of logic of all the 16 types. They are indeed brilliant! Mom was one of THE most BRILLIANT people I have ever known. She could walk all over my Dad intellectually and he's damn smart. She was like Noam Chomsky except a bit more emotional than Noam. I guess it was the combination of her Ni hero and Ti child. She was literally almost ALWAYS right. We'd be having a discussion and then I'd be like "oh". LOL. She was just so good with getting to the essence of something, to the root of it or the crux of it. She could crystallize a point beyond what anyone thought possible. Amazing to watch! I still don't know if I've ever met anyone in person smarter than her. My ex-wife is a brilliant INFP (one of those INFPs who has reached full maturity and owns her own non-profit AND a consulting business doing amazing education reform on the national level) but it's still a tossup in my mind over which one of them is more brilliant. I think they are just brilliant equally in their own ways. It's so interesting! My Mom though, sadly never quite gave herself the credit she deserved. She never realized how smart she was even though her IQ was 136 tested back when she worked at the hospital in the 1970's. But yeah, I've known other INFJs and they are very smart too. My dad is an INTJ and I am an INFJ, and we share many qualities. I'd even say I am only 70% INFJ and 30% INTJ because of just how similar we are. I am an extreme introvert, even though most INFJ are considered "the most extroverted introverts" of MBTI, and I find my viewpoint of the world a whole lot harsher than what is expected from an INFJ (hence my INTJ-ness). On the other hand, my brother is also an INFJ (and my best friend because we understand each other), and our mom is an ESFJ, and he shares a lot of the same qualities as her. Parent-child relationships affecting MBTI sure are interesting to analyze.
@jadececi76535 жыл бұрын
i think "infj being the most extroverted introverts" is kind of an unexplained think. I believe that INFJ might be one of the most introverted ones instead. But people might see them as an extroverted. Because INFJ tend to help other people so while helping them they need to communicate right? They also tend to share other people's feelings too which also seems like an extroverted trait. But they dont share their *own* feelings easily at all. But i can get your point. I also see many similarities between me and my INTJ friend. But when i got deeper into this MBTI stuff i realized that we also had many differences.
@FlawlesZMa4 жыл бұрын
wow this is how I think it is with me and my dad and mom. I get INFJ on test too and it fits me so well and my father fits INTJ. We are very similar, but still I am more close to my mom and I think she is ESFJ so maybe because of the F but if I were to ask of anything and wanted those deep long conversations about the stuff only him and me are interested in I´d go to my father. how is your mom and dads relationship? Im curious if it is similar like my parents. would be so interesting to talk to someone with the same family dynamic. I have two sisters too, dont know their exact types.
@jennsmith38565 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of times we don't want to admit our type, but we know what it is. We don't really want to be identified with the type we know we are. This is probably because we are so intimately aware of our own flaws. I'm not just talking about INFJs or INTJs. I'm really talking about any type - maybe some more than others. You come across as really hard on some of the types, like they have pride. But, for many of us, the truth is, we are trying to settle on the hard truth of accepting who we are.

DaveSuperPowers has grown tremendously, you should watch their videos as it almost aligns to your views (on preventing mistypes). Do not watch their old original videos (dated 2012 or older) because they actually debunked their old videos and says its flawed, so they point to those old videos to set an example on how not to type people. Their 2018 videos and later are golden. You guys should definitely do some sort of cross-references and peer-reviews on your stuff. I guess a point of conflict could be that they don't deal with the whole "four sides of the mind" stuff and they explain shadow functions as something different. I was hoping if you could compare your type grid method with their methods and see if they line up.
@ChrispyNut5 жыл бұрын
I support the request for a comparison, though appreciate that it would take a lot of time to gain sufficient understanding. I've listened to him on a few podcasts, it sounds to me like he's blending nature with 3 sides of the mind, so someone who's "shadow focused" whilst typing/reflecting then they're going to drag their "DaveSuperPowers Type" away from their "ego" type towards a "Blended Type", but that won't hold for long as circumstances change. I've not been able to research that theory due to "pay walls", but it seemed "off" to me.

I am an INTJ, and a female, read about all these personalities, took all the test, end up with the same results every time I took one, Myer Briggs was the better, more personal questions to actually pinpoint who you are and how you would handle situations, by the way, there is nothing wrong with being alone, like it that way, most of the time.

I think Frank James made me confused about what I'm supposed to be or really am. I need help, outside perspective because I can relate to so much but then morally deny that's my depth. I never knew myself. I am circling on INTJ, INFJ, and INFP. I've tried to change myself since I was young and now I don't know who I truly am because a lot of how I act as an adult is frustration with being misunderstood. I'm so big hearted but uncomfortable with what is correct that I overthink it. Social anxiety is my downfall. I want to be extroverted and know what to say in every situation... But I either either don't know what to say, not interested in topic and daydream, or I'm thinking about all the ways someone will perceive me or/and judge me. As the world works I honestly don't think I'm in any of the more common types of personality, because I've never met anyone who is like me and or understands me. And the world couldn't function the way it does if it was made up of 10% me. I think the ones that understand me are more sympathetic to my communication struggles or are so in tune with their own energy and self that they they find me interesting or mysterious like a puzzle for them to play with... Maybe that's why I love E Child... Well the curious and compassionately direct ones. I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me or pitying me. Please solve me. I'm watching all these videos but I'm now obsessed on digging for an answer, ignoring externally what I need to do. I need it to accept myself and I can't do that if I don't know where I fit.

Whatever type you are is the same type I am because this is me 100%! But I have done a ton of research and have come to a pretty confident conclusion that I am an INFJ(Terbulent) with an enneagram 4w5 tritype 9 sx/sp. I know that’s a lot of letters and numbers, but it seems to me you are an enneagram type 4w5 or 5w4. This can further inhibit one’s social abilities. And if you look into the instincts, social is probably your “blind spot”. I do not think enneagram is “better” than MBTI, but it has really assisted me in “solving myself”. I have researched MBTI, Enneagram, and the Big 5 and they are all useful in different ways. I have also made friends online. Because I have a hard time making friends in person. I became friends with an INFP from another country online and I was on the fence as to whether I was an INFP or INFJ at the time. And I asked her “what do you think is the main difference between us?” And she said “you literally analyze EVERYTHING!” So there you have it. I do daydream a lot. But not about unicorns and rainbows and happy love scenarios. I am constantly thinking about the future and what I can do and say in potential situations. Because it takes me a long time to process before I make decisions. After all, I lead with a perceiving function. so I try to prepare myself ahead of time.

Love your videos CS Joseph (INTJ here), tremendous valuable insight. I was doubtful between an INFJ & INTJ but now I can see, INTJ do not do things entirely out of personal profits but they value some moral or purpose and also want the credibility. I hate my mind, abandoning people, seeing patterns and observations and planning to take my safe side. This makes us really soloist (most of the time). And I would really adhere to that advice of not corrupting my mind, I basically do but I have a slight probability of getting sidetracked. Thanks CS Joseph 🙂 I pity on your nose😁😁

Visual Difference: INTJs have more square or similar face structure, with masculine feature. They have endo-mesomorph body type ranging from large muscular frame to fat. INFJs, on the other hand have long rectangular face with feminine features, more of a V shape with less developed jawlines. They have ecto-mesomorph body type ranging from slender thin frame to fat. Mr C.S. is helping me sooo much. At first, after the personality test, having been told, advised and tested as INFJ, I was only ready to notice the low percentage and I wasn’t ready to absorb the new information. I am over 40 and feel I am just seeing the iceberg below after having concentrated on others and not anything else for so long. I want to learn all of this really quickly, now being open and then get back to helping more. One of my clients had referred to how I focus on one person at a time (which looks flighty to some ) as my “mission from God” and it helped me to be a tiny bit more light-hearted which means my heart weighs 1.9million pounds instead of 2million. I want everyone to be happy. These studies and this consciousness will help the whole world! ☺️🙏

My best friend is an ENFP, and I always wondered why as an ISFP we got on like a house on fire, more than most others that I meet, but potentially being an INTJ might make this make sense. Also, I pre-empted and ended a 3 year relationship (which was heart crushing) with an INFJ because he was so low effort, but to be fair there were subtle alarm bells from the beginning which I couldn't ignore, even though he technically didn't do anything "wrong". I do however believe you can intuitively judge someone's character from their actions and values.
@edennis85782 жыл бұрын
I have to say that there's no such thing as pre-emptively ending a 3-year relationship that's just coasting. It means, sorry to say, that he just wasn't that into you and he would've been gone as soon as he met someone he really wanted to be with. It happens all the time. Sometimes it can be ten years and even a couple of kids down the road, but the woman always seems to be shocked when it happens.
@ezj82622 жыл бұрын
I will say this as an INFJ, regarding belief of the spiritual realm . . . Years ago, I met a guy in college, who told me of his spiritual experiences. I was turned off to him, and I wouldn't answer his calls. I was very curious as to why some people had such experiences, while others did not, including me. When I had privacy in my apartment, I decided to fast for a few days, and during that time, I prayed relentlessly to hear the voice of God or angels. So what I did, resulted in that door being opened, and it became an ongoing thing, but I quickly found that it became and undesired thing. For one, I have proof for myself, but on the other hand, the voices I were hearing and what I was experiencing was demonic. To open that door is not difficult, but to close that door is almost impossible, once opened. And that is the danger of it. Once you open that door, it remains open. If you humble yourself, and call on the name of Jesus (Yeshua) and ask Him to distance them, He will -- but having pride and fear is like opening the door again. I realized a couple of things. For one, God does have a hedge of protection over us. He does resist the proud. And without Him, we cannot combat or conquer spiritual problems.

Shahryar Shoul No I’m pretty confident I’m not Si dom lol I know them and they are so so different from me. I 100% relate to Ni as a function. There’s many times in my life where I infer understanding of concepts on my own without having to “learn” them. For example, inferring the rules of music without having to explicitly study music theory. I rarely use my raw memory of things as a basis for anything, instead playing off some hunches that I have in the moment. I also get bored talking to overly concrete people since the discussion is narrowly focused on unimportant details. For example STJs who default to recounting their personal experiences in some sequential manner. I always want to place things in a grander scheme, discovering universal underlying themes and archetypes of various domains. I rarely find people that share this desire, except for some of my friends who are NTPs/NFPs/NFJs.

As a perfectionistic INTJ poet with a long fuse, I tend to only reveal my self-perceived flaws to close friends when they're becoming too pushy & I'm hoping to repel them (it gets a former muse to-in phases-weed themselves out of my life without me having to offer confrontational or passive-aggressive affrontation). || It's sorta like playing dead to avoid further molestation. I usually feel competent to fight all my inner battles on my own; it's rare that I find someone I can open up to without it resulting in them falling in love & turning into stalkers, etc.; but I've been in their shoes, too-so I have more than mere sympathy. I'm recognizing my Si Demon, now, and that it intentionally acts crazy (out of fear, I guess-in, like, emotional survival mode) to placate those its about to abandon, so they can be left thinking, "Well, I guess he's not worth my time." || It's fine playing the foil at times, as long as it allows others to go on feeling all is as it should be (perception is key-y'get me?). -- But I want to grow as a person & surround myself with the right kinds of friends, so I hopefully never have to rely on that part of me. This video really inspired me. Thank you so much.
