I'm an INFJ, and I tend to talk a lot around the only people I trust, however around other people I'm actually very direct, if someone asks me a thing I answer in the shortest and most efficient way possible. My best friends all say we thought you were a very quiet person that had nothing to say but you always have loads to say. And I rarely write comments on KZbin videos (or any social media paltform) but I find this channel really nice so I think commenting here once in a while is very good and kind of therapeutic! ✌

I dated an ISTJ before. I can confirm he was very system based and concerned with safety and obsessed with rules. He had cameras all over his house and in his car in case he was ever in an accident or anyone ever broke in and he needed it on video. He also tried to get us to date again by texting me that we should hang out because I'm one of the people on his list of who he'd marry. He's very financially stable and a regional boss of a major company and this is the way he acts.

Not having a sleeping pattern is something I really relate to. As long as there is an external factor creating some kind of routine for me (like going to uni) it's pretty much all right. But as soon as it disappears my sleeping pattern gets out of hand again and I end up staying up to 4 am. I live with Si types and whenever I mention I'm tired or sleepy they are like "well, who's fault is that?". But I really have no control over it - it just keeps happening.
@Idyll_Insomniac9 ай бұрын
Sounds very similar to me. I'm way more likely to stick to a routine if someone else has made it, i.e. a uni timetable vs making my own because of distance learning. I also can't keep a sleep schedule for longer than 2 weeks before it breaks down and I stay up longer and longer.

One more quick thing: I find it so fascinating that INFJs absolutely DESPISE chaos in the way of stimulus overload in their non-career lives (shopping malls, grocery stores, what have you), and yet at the office we thrive off of chaos and work extremely well under pressure.

Absolutely. There’s the passing thought of, “Hey maybe I should just get a mindless job so I can actually have time to daydream instead of having to stay up all night, and then be addicted to caffeine and adrenaline while working.” But no, I’d quit a boring job with no purpose or movement very quickly. Now I understand why I have gone through so many changes. I am not happy with anything static and stable. I need to see and feel growth no matter how much it kills me.

As an introverted type, I've learned that it's important to initiate conversation on my end of the relationship. It's not fair to always leave it up to the other person to contact me. In the past, I believe that my behavior of not really initiating conversation all the time with others would lead people to believe that I didn't care about them. So now I try to make sure that there is a decent balance when it comes to both parties contacting one another.
@CHK123196 жыл бұрын
So true! It's an extremely rare occasion that I'll initiate a conversation. I think it might be due to that inherent worthlessness insecurity... the validation of someone coming up to me and initiating gives me the confidence to respond. Otherwise, I assume I'm not worth talking too :/ definitely something to work on.

Chase, the reason why I’m in this video, even though I’ve been following you for what seems like years, but it’s probably just two, is because I just need to listen and re-listen to everything. People think I know a lot but I tell them that I don,t, I’ve just been looking at this stuff for years and every time I have to go back and re-learn. Once you told me that maybe i was an INFJ instead of an INFP and to just watch. I thought also maybe I could be an ISFJ too, but I’m not interested in decorating or having people over for the holidays. I’m interested in going places and seeing people, and meet all different types of people. The thing that I’ve noticed is that people will come and talk to me even though I don’t say very much. They’ll tell me their problems and all I have to do is listen. They tell me that I’m a good listener. And also, I’ll go to the bar with my husband, I don’t say a whole lot, but he does all the talking. He’s an ENFJ, and he loves to talk which is good because I like to listen. Then I’ll comment on a strange observation regarding a picture on the the wall and he’ll look and say he disagrees. At first, I’m kind of negative about going out, but my husband talks me into it. And I’m surprised in the end because when I listen, that’s when I have the most fun. I’m trying to let you know that I’m starting to believe that I’m really INFJ, which you said perhaps I am. But, that’s what I’ve noticed so far.

I started working in an office, and it's only been a couple of weeks and I'm thinking about quiting and starting smthin else because I felt I was 'still', I didn't feel that I'm improving or growing. And there is no 'chaos'. The interaction style was on point as well, my default mode is direct and efficient responses to new people (although I'm very initiating with people I know or when there's a new person in a circle I try to make them talk and feel comfortable) and whenever I'm aware of this I make an effort to have a conversation with people I just met and understand them. The sleeping pattern was accurate. ISTJ.

This video makes me realize that, as INFJ, I need progress and couldn't stand stagnation. I thought this was me being impatient and maybe I'm mistyped (for the first few times, online tests such as humanmetrics and 16personality kept typing me as INFP, but I can't quite relate to FiNeSiTe though I love INFPs; another time INTP; but the keys2cognition test actually typed me as INFJ and I relate a lot to your videos on INFJ). There were a few times where I would set this particular "timer" in my head, e.g. If this doesn't happen by this week or month, I'd walk away; or if I see no sign of improvement (in myself as well as in others), I'd walk away. But it's usually after months or years of no progress. And I kept wondering if there was something wrong with me, because people around me could stand just being in the same place for over 5, 10, 20 years, preferring the routine while complaining almost daily and yet doing nothing about it. I guess some people just enjoy doing those things, I'm still trying to understand tho. The rest I could easily relate to, difficult to start something, irregular sleeping pattern (much better now as I'm getting older, but with effort), being a workaholic/obsessed when there's a project I need to finish or when I'm onto something (day & night do not exist anymore), preferred to be informed and for others to initiate interaction, esp in group setting, however if the other person seems to look uncomfortable in some way, I'd usually try to initiate. And also, I can see a lot of what you mentioned in my INTJ good friend too. Thank you, C! Really appreciate what you're doing.
@DanLagos286 жыл бұрын
yes this is so true, as an INTJ I need movement and progression if I don't do or make something for a good logical and or rational cause to start and finish it somehow I will start having these negative emotions, if we don't do anything or if we don't have a correct vision of what we want to get done
@crazykinzxoxo66545 жыл бұрын
I don't usually initiate contact unless it's a family member or a close friend, even under those circumstances they usually end up contacting me first. I also am more of a one on one person. Usually in group settings everyone else is talking and I may be so quiet that they forget I'm there, it's because I don't want to jump into the conversation, I'd be more a little more comfortable if they invited me into the conversation first. Edit: I'm an INTJ and It now all makes sense to me why some nights I might be up until 5.. then other nights I might fall asleep at 12.

I’d say my sleeping habits are fairly alright. Mind you, that’s if I have work the next day or I need to be up early etc If I’ve got a schedule, I’ll most likely go to bed at a “scheduled” time I guess. This is for the most part though. If I don’t have anything the next day, I’ll stay up late until I crash. In all honesty, I’ve noticed that many personality types tend to have rather odd schedules of sleeping habits. But, I suppose on a more deep level, INFJs are more prone to this. Especially in their adult years if they don’t balance out their social lives to their “recharging” times. I’ve noticed I even sleep in a little more. Something I did often as a child but, then grew out of as I matured and then now, as I mentally exhaust myself I sleep longer. So, ok. I agree with this lol But, I wander what the numbers are like for other personality types. I feel this has a lot to do with their life styles and interactions. Energy is drained due to many different reasons for different personality types. Anyway, very interesting, as always. -INFJ

As an INFJ, I do feel that I am highly capable of talking a gargantuous amount though... So, I disagree with your opinion about concise speech. Something worth considering (?) which may provide more clarity in what I mean... I cannot speak for INFJs, but, I personally do STRIVE to be as "accurate" as possible... Which means trying to use the least amount of words to convey an idea (either one of 1. depth/intricacy or 2. obviousness/simplicity). However, the overall goal isn't trying to transmit the shortest string of words to get by-- Rather, it is to transfer the best msg in the most efficient way possible. One that would evoke the type of action I want to see from the listener. I am responsive and, therefore, I want others to be responsive (phew, I sound bossy). So, if that is what you mean by us being short and to-the-point, then, I agree with you. If I am interested in expressing myself to someone about a worthwhile topic, I can have quite a lot of things to say. So much so that I'll apologize for speaking too much. It's like I suddenly gotta feed that desire to inspire and provoke some sort of change in other people after interacting with them or else I will implode, lol. Most of my interactions with others are purposeful. What I hope by the end of our conversation is that there is some sort of internal change (conscious or subtly understood) that would lead that person and/or me to show proof of that internal change via contribution. Once individuals have internal movement they will respond somehow and exert external action. Hopefully, these internal and external individual changes serve to positively affect communities and societies... So, yeah, I do think INFJs and INTJs can become passionate agents who try to usher change within our network by first doing hard stuff themselves. I believe there are many variances in each type which could explain my preference to speak more than another INFJ. I think the variable ranges of types can be understood better from the DaveSuperPower channel. Sorry, for typing a lot, coming back to edit the response, and saving the response. lol

I am simply doing something to learn , improve or work on my vision . but I am more than willing to respond . when I am not into answering , I close the door of my room . this means unless you are in an emergency , never come to me , that is me time I am finishing it right now , do NOT disturb mode. that is when it irritates me so much to talk to me . I even have a me time , don't disturb doodle on that door. by the way I don't find talkative men appealing, I want to leave . but I find NF men entertaining and NT men to be educational with weirdo sense of humor that makes the information awesome. what I love about my INTP husband is he helps me ground my vision into reality , as he understands me with the least explanation , he even reads my mind sometimes. INFJs out there find yourself an intuitive, and talk with them. thanks , I love your videos so much and I keep coming to your channel from time to time , it is an informative in a way that I really love. thank you I can feel your love to everyone benefiting from the content . especially the most of the time misunderstood INFJ. even though I think being misunderstood is cute, as long as it is not affecting our relationship with close family and friends.

I'm a bit confused. Based on the general description of this interaction style, I find it almost 90% relatable. I have to get stuff done (that I find difficult to start) in an "explosive" one or zero way. But, when it comes to the three components of the interaction style, I find some uncorrelation between what I think is my style (See It Through), and the two first elements of it. I'm definitely a movement type and nothing else, but I can find myself leaning on a LOT of occasions to a more informative way of speech, where I use alot of words, can speak pretty fast, and develop my points to details to avoid misinterpretation, but I don't involve any cryptic stuff. I can also be very initiating, either for the sake of having discussions or when I'm in need of others. Of course, this doesn't mean that I'm not direct/responding, I actually believe that I'm pretty high on both, but I can also use the others in a "non-secondary" way that I got confused. I have an INTJ ego(or atleast, believe so), could this explained by a constant switching to my ENTP unconscious, or is it that I'm not INTJ in the first place?
@CSJoseph6 жыл бұрын
hamouchou10 yes you are engaging your ENTP unconscious which allows you to switch from direct to informative
@hamouchou106 жыл бұрын
C.S. Joseph Can the frequency of that occuring be this high? I assumed that switching to the subconscious/unconscious is either under certain circumstances or when the ego is forced to be repressed, which isn't the case for me.

I had the same observations from myself (I am overly informative... by my standards). But it was a learned response from my unintended "pushy" natural style that say what "I THINK" is necessary for accomplishing whatever. This just rubbed people the wrong way - and their cooperation was essential for the outcome. It's why I will quash certain projects bc it requires cooperation that makes me tired just thinking about what energy I will have to expend. Internally, we are communicators (INTJs must have an explanation for our own sense of comfort - it's the interaction w/ people we feel that "don't get it"). IMO, we are very capable in a lot of ways that would be inconsistent w/ introverts (passive/anti-friction). But we are pretty damned determined once we get focused, and beating our own discomfort with being misunderstood, or being "too much" (not efficienct???). We have more range than our primary stack shows on paper.

Constant interruptions drive me crazy. Not only does it impede progress and delay completion, it also distracts me so I cannot focus on the task at hand (Ni hero). For this reason, I find myself taking an anti-multi-tasking stance while working, and prefer one thing at a time. I even find that everybody talking at once very frustrating. One at a time, please. The problem is, most workplaces expect "ability to multi-task," and I end up feeling less useful, just based on my natural inclination towards tunnel vision. I wonder if any other see-it-through types have experienced this, and did finding an "outside the box" / niche profession help them use their strengths, rather than be judged for their weaknesses...I am currently considering developing a career for myself that will allow me to do this. In the meantime, I have developed multi-tasking skills out of necessity, but it is still not my forte.

Could see the huge difference even in just watching animes between a finisher type (my friend) and others ( me ) 😂 She told me she doesn't like to start an anime if she knows she can't finish it, and she gets triggered when she has unfinished series And she likes to watch one at at time So she doesn't start any of them rashly. So strict with that While me, i don't care if i don't get to finish something. i start bunch of stuff at the same time and even if I'm enjoying the one I'm watching, i just leave it mid way and start looking to try something new everytime. so i trigger her lol But why do i seem like a starter type even tho I'm not?? xD I get distracted and do multiple things at the same time. even in something like questions of an exam, i keep jumping between them leaving the one I'm answering mid way even if i know the full answer to try and answer another. Or would write the answer from the middle or the end first and then the start. or in a random scattered way. Chaotic. I can't focus on one thing It's tempting to think of the new stuff you're gonna see so i can't help it but just try try try 😂

I'm mentally ill and it's making it difficult to be certain of my type. So, questions. Generalized anxiety disorder sometimes pushes me into Movement and sometimes into Control. 1a. Could it also make me more Responding? 1b. Or Informative? 2a. Could major depression make me more Control? 1b. Or Responding? 2b. Or Direct? 3a. Could ADHD make me more Informative? 3b. Or Movement? 3b. Or Initiating? I think that I'm INTJ. But if so, I'm a very informative one. Is that possible? And is it possible to be an NT who loves color and is interested in how clothes fit people (the systems and the reasons why, not the fluff)? Or an NF who likes math and science? Sorry about all of the questions. I just really want to be sure. Thanks.

But what am i then? Example: I play a game and i want to finish it and i grind it for hours and hours. But then if it annoys me too much i quit. I might come back to it eventually and most likely finish it surprisingly easy mode it even tho the 1st time it was hard. Or i get bored of like: I write something longer.. a book and i just quit it and never finish it cuz im a perfectionist always changing it. But if i write a poem... i finish it preety quickly..im talking minutes and then i go to something else.

Darn it! I still can't type myself! Darn it. Have so many different things I do that fit into a few slots. I'm a finisher. Not scholarly. black n why direct. But don't like talking. Just Texting.writing. I make predictions with everything. Provide possible outcomes daily on everything give my son's warnings based on each pattern. Have to know everything no matter what. Each detail. Walk fast.drive fast. Everything must be fast. Or I loose my friggin mind. I must have movement. At job zero progress drives me insane. Waste of time . Won't volunteer to help either. Waste of time. Also work by odd hours. Never sleep. So much to finish. And stay up late. Sometimes over night. Then work at 6 am. But I might be a failure because hate interacting. Interruptions. Listen to music all day at work. And leave. People annoy me with nonsense or waste time. I give them the best possible way to fix their issues. But they still waste air complaining abt same issue instead of fixing it exactly the way I told them. Even bosses same way? Which is why they continue to have same dumb azz problem yr after year. While again acting like they CANT SEE THE FRIGGIN RESOLUTION! FRIGGIN NEON SIGN GOT DAM BRAILLE!! ANYWAY DUMB AS HEL

tempgirl00711 Sounds like you’re an INFJ. What you typed in your comment is direct. You don’t seem to interact with other people until they come to you, which means you respond. You like a fast paced work environment. That’s movement. Since you make predictions, you could be typed as the one I mentioned, but you claim to be not scholarly. Maybe you don’t meet your high standard of what a scholar is to you. That is something INFJs do often. They have high standards yet they can’t even meet them themselves. On top of that, there’s your righteous rage on what the company you work for should do since you seem to find their stupidity enraging. -INFJ

I think I'm an ISTP female except that I'm really not a workaholic, I'm not a finisher, I wanna study for long hours but I just can't, even though I know my deadlines for that task was yesterday. Am I typing myself wrong ?? Also I talk a lot, I do mean what I say & say what I mean though. Like I have 2 friends and when I talk to them I'm so full of energy,but I'm too insecure to meet other people. And I'm very direct to the point of being very blunt. Have problems (huge) sleeping early, currently it's 3:28am. Hate explaining myself too.
