I teach my clients to eat for health. Fasting is so you can clean your blood of the sugar, salt and fat. We eat what we want for health reasons Some people are doing this just to get skinny. We do it to keep weight off, but mostly stay healthy. As you get older you will eat less junk or be a diabetic or cancer. This is good for you! Stay healthy! Look up Dr Jason Fung and Edward V for those that want to do a fast for health.

This helps with the cravings. I'm on omad now. I noticed when i eat normal (all day i mean) i want to eat more, i want to spend more money on empty foods. But I buy more good foods when im on omad. Unconsciously my body understands "Well, you can eat cookies and pizza now, but you will be hungry very soon", so it is much easier to make good choices, because my body approves this. Because of this i am less hungry.

It is so refreshing to see an honest fasting video on the fact that with fasting, you can eat whatever you want. It is the hormonal balance that makes it effective. Not the food or calorie restriction. There are countless videos that say "keep it simple" but don't eat this or don't eat that. If a person who struggles with changing what they eat could do that in the 1st place, they would not need fasting. No matter what I eat during my eating window (I do ADF), I ALWAYS lose weight. Bravo for you to provide information to the average person looking for a simple solution.

I just don’t know why people don’t do some of that fasting while sleeping. Those hours count towards your fast. I do a 20 hour fast from 9:30 pm to 5:30 pm the next day. I sleep 7 hours of that. I work 8 hours of that and get off at 6:00 pm. I have a snack on my way home and I cook soon as I walk in the house... if I didn’t meal prep beforehand. Great video, thank you for sharing.

Ive noticed for me, and this is just me, that the benefits I get from a 22 fast are worlds better than the 20 hour fast I used to do. I started with 16 and it was great. Expanded to 18 and then to 20 to get that autophagy going. But then when I increased those last 2 hours to 22, that was when it all came together. My weight had leveled out from my previous fasting. I was better than when I started but only had lost about half the weight I wanted to lose. Still about 10-15 stubborn pounds overweight. Still way better than before but not all the way there. Then when I went to 22 the rest came off and relatively fast. My energy also spiked. My sleep was better. My mood was better. My thinking more clear. I’m thinking it was like this gal in the video said. When I did 18 or 20 hours, I would still snack quite a bit. I’d have my meal and then at the end of the 4-6 hour window, I’d snack up and eat basically the equivalent of a second meal at least calories sake. I’d eat half a bag of chips and dip or eat ice cream or a whole sleeve of Oreos because it had been 4 hours and my hunger came back. Now that I’m doing only 2 hours there’s not time in 2 hours for me to get hungry again. So one of the things I do to prevent wanting a nightcap snack, is that I slather almost everything I eat in mct oil and or eat an avocado with each meal. That fat gets me to the stuffed feeling and I’m not hungry again until that time the next day.

It's been 2 weeks since I started 16/8 IF; down 9 lbs. I eat what I want & stop when I'm satiated. I wanted cookies last week & ate 6 small ones 2 days in a row - haven't had the cravings since. I didn't care if the scale went up by eating the cookies as IF isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle. I walk 6 miles a day & the scale fluctuates every day. Ditch the scale if it causes you to panic when the numbers go up. I was up 5 lbs. one morning but I didn't fret as my clothes were loose. The next day, I was down 5 lbs. Do what works best for YOU! I stop eating between 7P & 7:30P every night. I will resume eating between 12N & 2P - it's what works best for me. The only fruit I eat are a handful of blueberries & that's not every day as they tend to stir up hunger. Avocado & walnuts are my go to foods if I need something to hold me over. My goal is to lose an additional 14-21 lbs. & maintain. I've incorporated Keto type foods & my eczema flares have been reduced significantly. My skin looks better & I feel better thanks to IF. 2/24/19 @ 10:30A.

I'm a 70 year old (overweight, sedentary) vegan who has been able to lose 45 pounds in 6 months doing the 16 hour (lemon) water fast. I average about a pound a week whereas I was averaging about 2 pounds a week when I fasted for 22 hours. I decided that I would rather go the slower route as it allows me to have my fruit and coffee in the morning and the heavier stuff in the evening. I too eat carbs, oils, faux meat/cheese, red wine, chocolate .. all the stuff you're not allowed on a diet. So, it works. 🌹

@LindaCasey5 жыл бұрын
@@denisemccleese3895 I 'started' with OMAD/Warrior version and of course lost weight, but found I was thinking too much about that one meal so when I did eat, I scarfed it and could hardly walk away from the table because I stuffed myself. I have been doing 8-16 for 13 weeks now and still lose from 0.1 oz to 2.2 lbs per week. At 10:30 I eat fruit (smoothie/baked apples, etc.) & coffee, at 13:30 a huge lunch including faux meat/cheese, any carb, salad & veg, a piece of dark chocolate or fruit for dessert) and because I'm still full , but want to top it off, at 18:00 I now have a glass of red wine with faux cheese, popcorn or small bag of chips. I stop eating at 18:30! I drink about 5 (1/2 liter bottles) of lemon water and maybe 2 full liters of regular water a day. It's completely manageable for me since I no longer dream of what I can eat later. It's my lifestyle. One thing I'd suggest is to eat those sugary sweets DURING the meal. Remember, every calorie counts. Good luck. We can do it .. just need to be consistent! 🌹 P.S. Today I dipped down another pound! Yay

I do not cheat, but have decided to celebrate on birthdays. Mine is next in about 4 months. I think I'm done and at my goal by that time, but I will maintane doing same food, but just go down to 18 hours fasting. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 4 weeks ago and will not return to unhealthty carbs in my daily meals. I highly recommend to do 16/8 It gives you enough time to have all nutrients your body needs. 2 hours eating window is too short because you fell full before having necessary nutrients. The reason you are failing sometimes because your body is telling you something is missing. Success of weight loss is how much less stress to your body and mind which should be taking it slow. Intermittent fasting is not only weight loss. There are aloooots more health benefits. I hope you look into it deeper and take it slow to be able to continue.

This is awesome!! it is the only diet that has ever worked for me. I did 22 hour fasting every day for two years I lost 40 pounds. In those two hours I made sure that I ate everything I wanted to eat, including dessert every night. Once I got married, I started eating 3 times a day and I gained all the weight back. I am definitely going back on this one meal a day as it is fully sustainable as long as I have a variety of 0 cal drinks throughout the day it’s super easy.

I do low carb and IF 16:8 but I want to try the 20:4. Thanks for sharing, I was also thinking of doing a water fast too

First off I think I love you lol. Naw but I am currently doing a 22 day water fast. I have only 7 days left. I choose 22 days because that’s my favorite number. Last year I fasted for 40 days. It was a combination of water and juice fasting. So now I am in the process of writing a book on fasting and starting a health/fasting coach business. Follow my on Instagram to stay updated and for tips on fasting. @jamelanin

Hello, Just found your channel. I have been doing the Intermittent fast for about a week. You are speaking my language. I loved sweets before I started the fast. I have been doing 18/6 or 16/8. I will try the 22/2 next.

I've been doing intermittent fasting for a few months and liking my results so far. Have been searching for info/personal experiences of others doing this, who are on youtube. I've kinda been doing the same thing, LOL. Treating myself to a delicious meal like Chinese takeout, a big-a** Chipotle burrito, or cheeseburger on an eating day, and consuming nothing but water & zero calorie beverages (my favorite being the Arizona 0-cal peach tea) on my fast days. Thanks for sharing!!

Been doing OMAD for a month and today was the first day I couldn't finish my plate....waited a bit and closed my window...It does worry me that the calories may be too low...

I wouldn’t recommend eating unhealthy foods every time you eat in the tiny window, nutrition is still important for long term health. And for those that workout out, well you already know.

I would do OMAD but I would get so full so I wouldn’t be able to get all my calories in. I’m a hardcore swimmer and I’m starting to lift soon for an upcoming important swim season. I have to get my calories in so I do IF

I have been doing this without even knowing it. I usually am not hungry until late like 10 pm and last night I at chicken with blue cheese dressing and a bit of ice cream right before bed. I am a sugar addict to and this helps me to not binge on sugar all day. Ice cream is my fave too!
