Thanks for your videos. I have been at this for three months with no sales. I have used eRank for SEO and have optimized listings. I am also running Etsy adds. Can only assume what I design is just not in demand! Hopefully I can learn from your tutorials and crack this! Appreciate your time!

Good video. After those two months what were your stats (views, CTR, were you running ads, renewing often, etc.?) I’ve got 40 listings up but still not much traffic or many sales (just one).☹️

Thanks a lot! I understand, it can be really frustrating! I know it's a bit vague, but I would suggest really making sure that you have a target audience in mind for your listings, and that there is actually demand. I'll be talking about how you can do this research in an upcoming video. I had approx. 3,500 views in my first 3 months, and my conversion rate was approx. 4% (which is fairly standard for the product I was selling). I decided not to run ads in the beginning stages, and to rely more on organic traffic. I'm not against running ads as a new store, but focus on listing optimization before you do that. Hope this helps somewhat! I'll be covering a lot of these topics in more detail in future videos.

Hi Daniel, I just came across your channel and have subscribed. Great videos, many thanks, I have a few questions to try and get all my ducks in a row, I hope that's ok? I'm based in the UK and have an Etsy store where my wife makes products selling to the UK only. I want to set up another store (assuming this is the best option) selling POD products. However, I am considering selling only into the US market using US-based suppliers. My reasoning is - A) US is a much bigger market, B) There is a wider range of POD supplier options than in the UK. Shipping from these overseas suppliers to the UK seems prohibitive due to cost and lead time?. I have researched some UK-based alternatives should I target the UK, via the Pritify website, but the product range seems limited. By the way, I have a UK-registered LTD company, VAT registered. I would appreciate any thoughts on this as you are already selling globally. Many thanks and sorry for the lengthy question.

I'm happy to hear that you found the video helpful! I appreciate your interest in seeing my shops firsthand. However, I've chosen not to share them publicly to maintain the integrity of my data and analytics, which are crucial for my ongoing Etsy strategy. This way, I can provide the most accurate and effective advice based on genuine customer interactions and trends in the future. That said, I'm committed to sharing my insights, strategies, and tips through my videos to help you create a successful Etsy POD journey. Feel free to ask any questions you might have here or in upcoming content, and I'll be sure to get back to you :-D

Hi thanks for your video, but how did you get too many visits in one month?

I would focus on finding a sub-niche with medium/high demand and medium/low competition. This can often be the most difficult part of the process, so you need to invest time into doing research. Tools like Everbee are a great way to do this. I did not use ads in the beginning, but it is something you could experiment with as well, if you have a bit of budget.

Hi there! Thanks for your comment :-) I did not use ads in the beginning, and instead I relied on organic Etsy traffic. I would encourage you to check out Etsy research tools, such as Everbee (they have a free plan, and link is in this video description). You can use this tool to find out if there is actually demand for the products you're selling (are people searching for them?), and then also to optimize your listings so that the Etsy algorithm shows them to your target audience. I'll be posting a video all about Etsy SEO soon, but do let me know if you have any other questions :-)

@@EtsyDaniel Hi! Thank you for your reply! I will check Everbee. Also could you make a video on shipping to Canada with production partner in USA? Is it even worth it? I haven’t seen any videos on this topic. I currently have shipping only for USA because of extra costs… but would like to ship to Canada… I would love to know your thoughts on this! Thank you :)

I have a hunch about Etsy that maybe you can verify. My hunch is that the overwhelming percentage of POD shirts sold on Etsy are dull cheesy designs targeting someone similar to a suburban soccer mom. Not many edgy political designs being sold in comparison. And if you are not selling dull cheesy designs for the masses, then you must drive all your own traffic from external sources because Etsy search is not your friend.
@EtsyDaniel
@EtsyDaniel 7 ай бұрын
It's a fair point, but you would actually be surprised. While Etsy does to some extent cater to that demographic, the platform is also very popular for buying gifts, and you'll find a huge variation in designs here that are popular. I actually think that going against the grain and serving a niche that maybe has less demand, but also less competition, can be a great way to break into the POD world on Etsy. I'd recommend you check out the Etsy research tool Everbee (they have a free plan, and link is in the video description). It let's you analyze what keywords people are searching for, as well as volume of searches (demand) and the number of listings (competition). So, for your edgy political design ideas, pick out some search terms that you think people would be typing in to find it, and see what the tool tells you! Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to help :D

Hi Daniel, nice video, thank you very much for that. However my question is: why do you bother to create such videos while you've been running multiple six-figure Etsy print-on-demand store?
@EtsyDaniel
@EtsyDaniel 7 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks so much for your kind words. I totally get your question. While it's true that I've been fortunate enough to be quite successful on Etsy, my journey into KZbin and teaching is fueled by something more than just this. When I first started, KZbin was an invaluable resource for me. It was a place where I learned a lot about Etsy. I always believed in the power of sharing knowledge and experiences. That's why I've stepped into this space - to give back to the community that helped me in my early days. Beyond that, I've always had a deep passion for teaching and sharing insights. There's something incredibly fulfilling about helping others navigate their paths, avoiding the pitfalls I encountered, and celebrating their successes. My goal is not just to run a business but to empower others to realize their dreams. So, while running my stores is a significant part of my life, this channel is where I get to connect with amazing individuals like you, share my experiences, and hopefully make a positive impact. Thanks again for your question!
