Better than a gym, tricep, bicep, hamstrings and a general all over stretch workout. Feels good, looks good and your plants love you. Thanks, for reminding us how good it feels/satisfied when flowerbeds are completed for the winter.

There are no "Garden Police"...truth! I have some areas I can leave alone for the pollinators, but my main beds I now clean up with a fresh dressing of compost combined with chopped up leaf debris. Spring will be so much easier next year!

Lol, I like a daily, weekly clean-up of our garden. I like neat and tidy. No leaves or debris lying around. Maybe I am too much, but I hate a mess! 😂😂😂

Love the clean up. My beds look so naked. We have a lot of redbud babies coming up everywhere and grow so fast. I wish I never had a redbud tree which is gone now.

In Tidewater area of Virginia we have yet to get down to the 20s. My marigolds are going strong, along with some petunias. Annuals seeds have sprouted along with winter weeds. It is suppose to be colder this week.

I didn't think to just yank out my hosta debris. I have always meticulously pruned them back. Game changer. At this time last year, the Twin Cities had 13" of snow. Dec. 1st forecast has us at low 40⁰ F. Go figure. The bed looks all snuggly w/ its top dressing. 😊

Good morning, Jenny ☕️ I chopped up my fallen leaves🍁🍃🍂and top dressed my Hosta garden with it and am hoping it doesn’t harbor slugs! I didn’t evn think of that but, I am just south of Boston so we do get snow for sure. Your bed looks so pretty. I loved seeing Jackson sit on your new bench. I wondered if it got used. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐶

Hello Jenny, I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. I have a question about top dressing soil. In my area, I have a difficult time getting Land and Sea. I know you used some Black Gold earlier in some of your spring videos. Would you say this would be good to use to top dress my beds for winter. I love your videos you and Jerry have help me a lot.

Jenny, now I have a question about those bugs, snails, slugs hanging out ... could they just burrow under the mulch? Or is it the dead leaves & foliage that they prefer? Thx, because I was thinking they just burrowed into the dirt ... under whatever mulch or bark I have. Alysen

Thanks Jenny!! Question - Can I cut back my coral bells if they are leggy? I had them in summer containers and they weren’t thriving, and conveniently was able to put them in my new shade garden. Just want them to do well next season! I’m in Zone 8. ☺

Mornin’, Jenny. ☕️ The shade garden looks great! Noticed your Hoselink is still out. For us southerners (I’m in GA, old 7b/new 8a), is it ok to leave them out year round? Or do you bring yours in when we get colder in Jan-Feb?

Hi, Jenny! Your shade garden looks so nice. How satisfying to have one more thing done. I was wondering if you made your own compost? Land and sea is wonderful, but also pretty pricey. I use it around my plants, and in my containers, but I don’t have a large area. Just wondering. Also, love your shoes, brand?

Do you cover or wrap your camellia during a hard freeze? I have a camellia japonica that I planted this fall- it is full of buds just like yours. But I am wondering if the buds will be damaged in temps below 32. Our forecast is showing a few nights in the mid 20s this week so I want to make sure it is protected. Thanks!

Hi Jenny I want to ask u I just purchased some tulips bulbs, I live in zone 9b my question is should I water them once I plant them.My zone can be quite hard to understand because we hardly never have cold temp. I'm probably even sure that if I were to plant them now they would probably even grow😊 anyway great day🌷🌷

You will need to pre-chill them for a minimum of 6 weeks before planting. I would consult the store from which you bought them from.

Is there a reason for the trellis behind your White By the Gate Camellia? Do you have it attached to the trellis, or is it just for the look?

@Edu_Kate

As growers, I'm sure it helps them to have some projects completed in the fall. If one lives in a snowy area, cutting off just the blooms protects the stems from breaking under the weight of heavy, wet snow. I know from experience. 😊 Then in spring, do the shaping prune of stems.
