lol.. He's STILL in college at almost 23. Future? His future is to retire after graduating and coach. Look at the top 20 ranked runners in the world and tell me how he's supposed to compete against them in pros? Hell, the record holding under 20 champ ran 9.91 WHILE SLOWING DOWN and showboating, and he couldnt' survive the qualifying rounds at worlds Tremendous future... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm also from Matthew Boling's hometown of Houston, Texas, so I was well aware of his track exploits. I'm glad to see that he's continuing his success in college. I remember Boling being highlighted on Bomani Jones and Pablo Torres old show, "High Noon" and on "Pardon the Interruption" while still in high school. Flexibility is a huge factor in running actually
@Philipp_-cp2xw
@Philipp_-cp2xw 2 жыл бұрын
@@bensilvers2241 Dude it's a huge advantage, when you are sprinting alot of factors matter but having really good flexibility means he can pull his knee very high and explode back down from that position like a gazelle. The reason most body builders are not elite spriners is because they are mostly stiff and can't pull their knee very high and accelerate their lower body fast enough. Leg strength is important too but if your body can't apply that force the right way into the ground you still will be slow, so flexibility and others aspect play a big role for sprinters.
@davidtarantino152
@davidtarantino152 2 жыл бұрын
Stretching before a race will actually make you slower. It’s like taking the spring out of a slinky. You need very little flexibility to sprint compared to kicking. Getting strong will make you faster. At his age most of it is his genetics and strength training making him fast. I’ve held the record in the 100. Meters in my town for 36 years and I can tell you I stretched too much and lifted too little.

While it may be true that Bolling ran a wind aided 19.92 once, until he lives at that time he shouldn't be given too much credit for a fluke race. He is still living at just over 20.0 and has been since high school. Another thing I will say is that just because Boling won indoors this year and he has always won indoors, many of the track and field channels are exaggerating his accomplishments of which most ppl will admit have disappointed since signing with UGA

The truth is he's incredibly rare because sprinting is dominated by blacks and he's white. This kind of speed is determined at birth with the number of fast twitch muscle fibers you have. He was blessed with the same or more than many of the best black runners. For whatever reason blacks have more than whites and that's why they dominate sprinting and pretty much any sport that requires athletic ability.
@ancellery6430
@ancellery6430 2 жыл бұрын
Not true, blacks start off with more fast twitch fibers, but both whites and blacks have the same capacity to change. Human muscles are actually able to change the most compared to any other animal. There is one study with white twins, one was a marathon runner, and the other a powerlifter. One had 98% slow twich muscle, the other had around 50%. PJF performance has a great video on it. I used to also be a bit demotivated due to genetics but after watching that it gave me a new perspective.

@@lyndameyers192 my 18 yr old? Erriyon is not "mine" neither is Boling "yours". And the vid is "how is Matt Boling so fast", compared to normal people he is, but compared to elite sprinters he's just another guy. Barely anyone does 100m, 200m, long jump so not really with the likes of Carl Lewis unless he starts gold medalling at the Olympics, which I doubt. Only brain dead comment here is yours, Matt ain't gna fuck you for defending his okay/alright times Lynda

What gets me is his exaggerated side to side wobble, which works against him. If he would learn to control the wobble he would actually get faster, if you can believe that.

Its not implied racism, its just a fact that whites on average have less fast twich muscle than blacks, among many other differences which make blacks much more explosive on average. Theres a reason almost every sprinter and basketball player is black.

If he wants to clean up his mechanics and run like Jacobs, he needs to cut out. Lol the maximal long jump training, maybe keep it general just use easy relaxed approach runs for easy penultimates jumps and land standing on stiff sand walk out pit...then also start Lamont Jacobs 50inch vertical hurdle hops, he's already got the horizontal twitch covered
