My first bike (on the road) was a Raleigh Mobylette. I skimmed the head and added an oversize carb. Then it could do 31mph. Those were the days..

I watched someone slagging Crafar off for his tech talk on KZbin, saying he didn't know what he was talking about 😂😂. I was howling laughing. Good vid this Ricky, well explained and followable as you worked through each part.

I am constantly amazed by the modern world of sensors and data, I have several bikes some on carbs , some injected, none with ABS , traction control or electronic controlled suspension, they all manage to put a grin on my face though . Thank you for trying to explain , most of it I did understand.

My old Aprilia RSV1000 had a slipper clutch as standard.. It worked off vaccum.. It had a rubber diaphragm between the clutch cover and the clutch pressure plate so when you shut the throttle it created a vaccum and pulled the clutch slightly.... Worked quit well

Great vid, something I understood from my days with an ex R6 cup bike (2co) if memory serves me right we used to take one of the 3 star washers out the clutch to allow some more slip when down shifting .

I remember going to the IOM TT in 1989 , the lap record had just topped 120mph average. V&M were the biggest name in bike tuning and I'm still into fast cars and bikes. Give us a Carly Riky (plz)

There is a reason/function of the slipper clutch you didn’t fully cover, when you hit the back brake and it locks up fully (wheel stops spinning) you have very little control and a crash is very possible…. A slipper brake slows the rear wheel speed using engine braking but the wheel is still turning so you can slide/control the bike, this is how supermoto riders back into corners… its not back brake use as most think.
@REPerformanceUK6 минут бұрын
Slipper clutch doesn’t slow the rear wheel speed down, the engine does that. The slipper clutch allows the rear wheel speed to be different from the speed it should be for that engine rpm/gear. Super Motos back in because they run very little or no slipper clutch…so the rear wheel speed is massively reduced due to engine speed vs ground speed.

I melted most of my clutch on an 08 R1, funnily enough, back in 2008 😁 Fitted Pazzo levers, but completely ignored the brass sleeve, that I should have taken off the OEM levers - turns out, my clutch was never fully disengaging; so the several 1000 miles I did after (with loads of launches) just lunched all the plates, and I got given a box of bits from George Whites in Swindon along with a 700 quid bill oops
@andybegbie85533 сағат бұрын
So you're moving from R6 to R1 again, lol. Bit newer than my 05 R1 but we've put the 07/08 box in mine to use the slipper clutch! I understand how it works but wouldn't wanna build one, lol! Hiya Kate xx
