£11 grand is a real bargain Rob. What’s sets your vehicles apart is yours and Chris’s work ethic, for instance taking the benches out of the motor home so you could lay the flooring all over, when many said don’t bother, the job Chris made of the broken battens, just set you apart from the rest. Really enjoyed the vid.

Definitely new tyres - camper vans usually parked up for extended periods meaning tyre wall failure which only becomes apparent when driving at speed. 12K all day after new tyres and refurb. Another great video guys.
@peterforrest51812 жыл бұрын
Very good attention to detail. When the tyres are checked out wouldn't it be a good idea to ascertain how old they are from the sidewall codes? With a vehicle of this age they could easily be more than 10yrs old which would suggest replacement.
@willbassett29172 жыл бұрын
I second that as a tyre fitter in the trade it’s recommended that tyres shouldn’t be on a vehicle for more then 5 years obviously there’s no law on it we can only advise but tyres can still look good even at 5-10 even 15 years old but they won’t perform aswell as tyres that have been replaced within the 5 years

That van was a bargain for what you got it for and the work you both put in was fantastic. What a transformation. Probably one of your best video collections yet-though I loved the red vivaro ones because having bought a vivaro myself, I learned so much from those videos on how to fettle your own van....and ironically, I bought her to downsize from a big camper I sold like this one and had it professionally converted into a camper after my mum died. Loved the video. Love the channel and wondering if you and the better half are now gonna start your own youtube camper van channel.. You can call it "salvagers on tour" I have a sneaking suspicion that after your weekend away in the van you'll be naming her, keeping her and planning the next trip away in her. As ever, much respect, Kenny

Really enjoyed the series of videos about the motorhome ( couldn't get my head round all the negative comments) You got it for a great price and done all the fixes yourselves. I have just bought my first motorhome and had to convince myself that tgd depreciation is nowhere near that of cars and, in fact, could be sold for more than I paid for it several years later. I needed a daily driver so your camper (although great) wouldn't have suited me. Instead I bought an imported from.l Japan Toyota Alphard (2005) with a professional conversion. Its my daily driver and I love it. Cost a bit more than yours but in my eyes still a bargain. Another item off my bucket list.

The TV bracket in the motorhome we had until a year ago was one specifically designed for a m/home in that the TV was not fixed permanently onto the wall bracket, there was a separate part that screwed on to the TV. This allowed us to just lift off the TV and store it while on the road, or when the van was in storage we took the TV home. I would be concerned about driving around with the TV on a hinged bracket. When on site the TV was just slotted onto the wall bracket and was ready for use
