Subbed. I clicked on your video because I was tired of the "Make thousands a week" BS. You presented a very conservative and realistic approach to making a book. May I add I watched it through, twice and shared it with two people. One of them had no previous knowledge of adult coloring books. within 24 hours she had a book and art pencils in her hands. The video that you're talking about in this one, was the first I've seen of yours. You were positively radiant in it. You were bursting with joy and enthusiasm and pride and optimism. You're face and body language was extraordinarily expressive, and you were very animated. I didn't even know what you were talking about. All I thought was here's a woman who looks like a young Olivia de Havilland who's REALLY excited about what she's doing - and that hooked me into watching it to the end. I originally clicked on it just because it showed up in the list of videos on the right side of the KZbin window when I was watching a video about making resin jewellery. You're a really great communicator. Now I have to find out what you were talking about and tale a look at your books if I can figure out where they are. OK, so I'm stupid. I can't find your books on Amazon. Is there a link or keyword or something I can use?

Well done you! Thank you so much for sharing, I’m such a data nerd lol (my highest RPM on my channel is about £6.) Also tiktok now have a more generous than before creativity fund. Videos need to be over 1 min and have at least 1k views to qualify. But I was cashing out £10 a month on TikTok creator fund. I now cash out £40 and I’m not doing much different. Just creating slightly longer videos. Plus it’s my main marketing platform for driving traffic to my website. I pick up most of my uk customers from my TikTok videos. And international from KZbin. I definitely want to try out TikTok this year as a marketing tool for some of the brands I’m developing so this is useful info. RPM definitely fluctuates depending on the topics you talk about/what niche you’re in. Mine changes daily! Keep me updated with how things are going. Good luck with TickTok and I hope the creator fund is paying you at least £100 a month by the end of the year 🤞🏻

I watched until the end, because I found the info you presented to be interesting. Not a bad income for the time actually put into making the video. Congrats. However, some of those stats you're looking at aren't accurate. For example, any website that demands my personal info (name, age, gender, etc) as a requirement for signing up, I almost always just type in something random because I don't feel it's any of their business. And fake email generators work really well too.

Also, you said you were dabbling with ads. I did as well with lottery ads and here is what I have found out. If you spend a few dollars on lottery ads and the same book keeps selling, then push only that book for a bit with the ads. Then you can turn off the ads, of course the sales will drop but because it made some sales (where some make none ever), the algorithm seems to push it out a bit on it's own after that.. I turned off my ads on one book 6 months ago and it is still selling and making at least $10 a month and sometimes tripple that. But for me keeping the ads running indefinitely would have resulted in loosing money. That's to say the ads did result in enough sales to cover the cost of advertising but they did push my book up ranks in terms of sales which seems to have resulted in a forever organic push by the algorithm.

This is brilliant Mel. I have one video that took off on my channel 6 months ago (similar to this one) and what's incredible is it's STILL going. It's now on 250k+ views so just to let you know that yours might keep growing as well :). On a negative though, chasing those big videos becomes a drive and it's so hard to replicate :P

This is really interesting. Crazy income from one video! My best performing video is from last October and I compared yours against mine as you were talking. This was really helpful for me trying to decipher my traffic as a new monetised channel (since 12th December). I've been learning about Evergreen content and how videos that cover topics that stay 'on trend' continue to make money over time and my best video that is still earning was posted 2 months before I was monetised. I don't make videos to try and earn more but it's interesting to see what we post can continue to pay back over months and months. Thank you for this. :)

Congratulations on getting monetised! That’s such an achievement in itself. I like the idea of comparing as you went through the video, doing that with curiosity and trying to figure things out is a very constructive way to use comparison. I think, overall I’m always trying to strive for balance between videos I enjoy making, videos that might get more views and videos that will show up in search etc.. it shifts and changes but as long as I remember that not every video has the same job to do then I stay pretty happy with the whole process 🙂 Wishing you lots of luck with your channel 🍀🍀🍀

Hi Sarah! So the money has come in steadily in smaller chunks over the last few months so it made Christmas easier and enabled me to take a bit of time off knowing that January was paid for. I have treated myself to a few things I’ve need for a while. It’s a good question and I think I’ll talk about it in my next vlog-style video so thanks for the idea that people might find it interesting!

well done. I think there's no mystery as to why that one was big - it was about KDP and it had the question 'was it worth it'? Which, if you go into facebook KDP groups is the question that is basically asked every day. When I came across it I assumed you were another one of those 'kdp youtubers' rather than a more general channel. People on youtube still seem obsessed with KDP and... sadly.. it's still touted as an easy money get rich quick route. (as I earn from KDP of course it actually is at least amazing. Still doesn't mean it's easy though.

Thanks Simon, I can definitely see the appeal of it with hindsight. I think some people have become disillusioned with KDP, or rather with what they expected from it, and either want to give up or have given up. Others aren’t sure whether it’s worth starting. I’m not on Facebook and I only watch a handful of KDP KZbinrs so I don’t always know what the latest buzz or trend is. I think I prefer it that way! I’m pleased to hear you’re making a full time income from KDP, it’s great to know that’s still possible. I’m looking forward to building my income from it further this year, though my goal is still pretty small in comparison 🙂
