Ten Hag used Hojlund differently. Amorim sets his tactics to get his striker to score the most goals, his inside forwards doing the running for him. With ten Hag it was the opposite. It wasn’t the wingers being selfish, the tactics were set for them to shoot when they can with Hojlund doing the legwork

I think you're right, but it depends on which forward we're playing. With Hojlund, you want him playing the Gykores role, running channels and shots in the box. If he's getting cancelled out, bring on Zirkzee to drop in and play in the 10s. We should be set up for both.

I believe that the high press mechanics with the aim of covering the easiest passing options for the opponent can be improved. There's almost always going to be a certain need for somekind of high press e.g. sometimes after losing the ball during an attack. Improved tightness and better shadow covering could somehow be low hanging fruits.

I think he'll use a mix of the 5 players centrally (as you've shown) or he might use 4 spread directly in front of the back 5, in a 5-4-1.. It depends which one he finds most effective for the Premier League.

TH relentlessly and stubbornly tried a high press with constant gaps in midfield as a result. On one hand Amorim would be smart to adapt to a less risk mid block. On the other hand he would not be faithful to his own ideals and he would not build on the progress that TH made in the high press, because even though the results were poor, I did see progress in this.
