Player HUDs, ship HUDs, maps, store terminals, UI is everywhere, and Star Citizen struggled with it for a LONG time. But with 3.23 we are seeing some of the UI from Squadron 42 brought over to the persistent universe. In this video I'll cover the history of these systems, from cinematic beginnings to functional ends, and why they've gotten so much better.

Also I'd like to add here, the way SC places the HUD elements is why I will stay on UW monitors. It pushes the HUD elements out and keeps my 16:9 area free of clutter. MUH IMMURSHUN

I really hope the SQ42 Hud is an option for us. The blue is hard on the eyes and always has been.

The new interaction wheel is kind of jarring in EPTU but maybe because we aren't used to it. It's functional though. Think it needs to be a bit smaller and a little bit more opacity. Definitely good for us 5 controller users out there lol. To which, default controller settings are good. Takes a bit getting used to but works well with the new PIE/PIS system(that so needs a better name).

In 1986 we had dimmable dashboards, but can't dim the HUD in 2954.

9:40 where do you need it? in my case it's inventory manigement, the loot menu is too simplyfied for that purpose for me. (also it helps with dumpster diving to collect trash out of the bins, removing enties and cleaning up. dont know if it actually helps the servers but maybe it does)

3.23 is going to be so nice, but I think they have some ways to go still. I honestly don't think some of it is good enough not to be replaced again at some point, but a big step in the right direction. Functionality is just as important and something I hope is good with the initial release of this.

If you keep the scaling at 0 percent it's fine. If you go dlss the increase it gets blurred.

I'm confused what you mean by we don't need an inventory any more like it's unrealistic. Our inventory is are backpack and armor. Why do you want that gone?

Did I hear Brandon say, 'he makes sure the C++ code is interfacing correctly'? Does anyone use C++ anymore? I know it is still used...must be version 20 something by now. Most use C# and I haven't heard of anyone using C++ in 15 or more years! I'm sure there is a good reason...

I agree 100% It's ugly across the board, looks like it's ancient, doesn't fit the universe at all, it's organized poorly especially the inventory quick looting screens. A lot of wasted space and bizarre seemingly random design choices about what goes where. This is a huge step backwards

12 years not 10, and still absolute garbage mobiglass UI in todays ISC. I strongly believe they are intentionally trolling us. It's either that or the UI devs are the most incompetent in the market. UI is not hard to get right. Every game gets it. Somehow this one doesn't, after countless iterations and countless years of ignoring basic feedback. These guys need to stop working in this industry and whoever is validating their work needs to take a long break.
