Dr. Leigh, my husband and I have been watching your videos now for almost 100 days (100 days post D-day from PMO) and we both are so thankful to have found you. Your knowledge has made sense of a horrific situation (30 years addiction). I found this video and want to thank you again because I have been diagnosed 'clinically depressed' for all my life. (I am an professional artist and you know what they say about artists, right?) After this soul shattering event, I am finding just existing to be very difficult, at best. We have the Muse headband and we're both using it faithfully, and I hope to bring some peace to my life with it. We're in Oregon and don't have financial means to do a remote session with you, but know that we appreciate all you do. It may very well be what saves our marriage.

Hey, fellow artist. Sorry about the rough experience. I know how horrifying it can be. Have you tried some lifestyle changes that don't require money? Also, there's a guided meditation I did here on KZbin and it helped me reduce the depth of the anguish.
@evandegenfelder45544 ай бұрын
@@hopemokaya Thank you for the kind comments. We are in a FAR better place now--10 months post D-Day--than I was when I wrote that. It has easily been the worst year of my life. I still struggle, but now, we go for a few days between trigger episodes (instead of multiple times a day). We made some lifestyle changes: joined a gym together, do daily 'check-ins', meditation, counseling, etc. We've worked on recovery--both of us--but still, at least in my mind right now, it is what defines me. Instead of an artist (I've not been able to focus on painting since last September), I think of myself as a betrayed person who's trying to survive, trying to find a sense of value and self esteem that were shattered.

@@evandegenfelder4554 There's still room for more inner work, which means there's plenty of space for peace to deepen into and for you to experience the love (or normalcy) of life. I am so happy about your progress. I'm happy you're able to do this as a unit with your husband. I'm rooting for you. And if you need someone to talk to, I'll be there.

You ever heard of Timothy Crow?? He was a linguist researcher who came up with this interesting theory that psychotic disorders like schizophrenia etc are to some extent are a result of diversity in languages from a evolutionary perspective. In layman’s terms, what he’s saying in that throughout the course of human evolution the diversity in languages from diverse cultures can play a role in the genesis of schizophrenia. Any truth to it??

Mind wants to be empty and get busy with creative works which exercises the Intelligence.. But our social conditioning of exaggeration, fantasy, fallacy in everything disturbs it's peace by making everything pleasurable and unrealistic.. Nothing wrong with pleasure but use it only when u need it. Don't get possessed by it. We should always be committed to emptiness. When mind is empty, Intelligence starts working for u and does the best for u by default.. There is only one SIN, that's getting possessed by habit of exaggeration..

Any solid psychiatrist can easily diagnose clinical depression by talking with you if you have health insurarance or can afford a standard visit. On the other hand, Neurofeedback has mixed effectiveness in medical studies. Choose wisely.

How much to.do a brain map ? Can you identify depression, anxiety, porn affected brain etc ?

Hi. Yes. Absolutely. I can see the brain patterns that create depression anxiety and the porn brain pattern. It is $399. Usually we only add it to our home Neurofeedback program so that people are committed to change. The link is below if you want to check it out. drtrishleigh.com/neurofeedback-coaching-program/

@@DrTrishLeighBrainRewire thanks Dr Trish. So you can't just get a brain map to at least first understand what is going on 'if' one is sceptical about the science behind this ? What I mean is that for instance they offer anti depressants to improve serotinin uptake . I have always said how do you prove the brain is depleted of serotonin ?
@DrTrishLeighBrainRewire2 жыл бұрын
@@oliverkent7158 Other practitioners will do the map first. I prefer to work with non-skeptics if you know what I mean. Or at least hopeful skeptics 😉.

@@DrTrishLeighBrainRewire fair enough Dr Trish but maybe you should accept that this is very new for most of us ie understanding brain science of addiction. I said elsewhere that Psychs expect patients to take powerful drugs based on assumptions eg with anti depressants that serotonin levels are depleted ? My argument is show me that that is true ie that ny brain is depleted first. You have to lead the horse to water first imho. Thanks

This is very nice in theory. But this damn disease is chronic and incurable. There is not a single person in the world who has been cured of depression.. There are people who take medicine and try to fight, there are people who get repeated episodes of depression, but there is not a single person who has been cured, throughout history and to this day.😢
