As a teen in High school I checked out your workout, and I will say that it really works through a lot of inflexibility that I have had built due to me being overweight for most of my childhood. But I have progressed quite far on my athletic journey using many different methods, like the ATG circuits for knee and ankle mobility, your workout on hip flexibility (biggest weakness), and in general freeweights and calisthenics. I'm always looking forward to your advice!

Thanks for starting this podcast. Flexibility is my weak link. I am training flexibility for about 4 years but my progress is super slow. I think I might be doing it wrong :) keen to hear more about upper body as well. I noticed on your site you don’t have an upper body (thoracic, shoulder, etc.) flexibility course. Why is that? See you in Bali!

Personally I d love to learn more about the shoulders flexibility. More specifically shoulders flexion. I have been struggling with it for years. I saw improvement when arms are straight but as soon as I bend the elbows, my shoulders are not flat anymore.

@@CoachBachmann Dealing with injury, possible road map in handstand training, more how to's. And as with any podcast, stories are a great addition, whether they are yours or someone you bring on to the show. Maybe even a general discussion of "handstand" fitness industry (if there is one). Misconceptions such as "you can only learn when you're a kid", "can't be too big" etc.

Question :- Does sleep help in recovery of sore muscle ??
@CoachBachmann Жыл бұрын
I am planning a big recovery episode soon but short answer: YES! Sleep is a game changer for recovery! How much exactly you need is highly individual but aiming for a solid 8h and adjusting from there is a good starting point!

Great one Coach!! I had a inguinal hernia in the past, I now have a piece of plastic in my body in the lower belly, this makes my Hip bone on one side wants to rotate backwards. This gives a lot of discomfort and pain in the pelvic area, so I have to be careful and gentle with forward bends and pancake like stretches.. also a dide split is kind of tricky.. I am pretty flexible already.. but getting further is a challenge that resulted in a lot of pain in the past... So I am always looking for the right balance here... We will meet in november Coach, looking forward 💪🤸🙏🏼

Hi Coach Bachmann, What is the best schedule when combine it with calisthenics, is it ok to be the same day? Best wishes.
@CoachBachmann Жыл бұрын
Hey! I can be highly beneficial to do both in the same time. Stretching your hamstrings and Lars before training handstands can make it easier to balance and to get up for example. Generally speaking it is safe to stretch and strength train with calisthenics in the same day. Just in case you are using very heavy weights for your legs I would recommend not doing deeper stretches on that same day
@juliehsunflower Жыл бұрын
Hi :) how long should you hold a stretch/yoga pose? how many sets and reps are ideal for individual exercises and how any different exercises a day (push ups, pull ups etc.) thank you for this! I started trying to learn a handstand about two months ago and I’ve plateaued. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I am also a runner and have found I’ve felt so much better with the leg stretches that you use for handstand training.

How can we get ready for flexibility training when we have to train early in the morning?
@CoachBachmann Жыл бұрын
If I have to train in the morning I run outside for warm up. High intensity intervals or just sprints in general will kick start your system plus the extra oxygen from being outside will help you wake your mind and body up faster

About flexibility questions:how can go deeper in stretch safely and protect our joints in case of knees and elbows hyperextension ?
@CoachBachmann4 ай бұрын
Hey, To go into a deeper stretch you have to train. Slowly over time through consistent efforts you will be able to slide into deeper stretches. Here it is vital not to push too hard or to try and advance too fast! To protect the joints from hyperextension 2 things are important. First of build coordination and awareness for the muscle that is protecting the joint that you are worried about. For your elbow this would for example be your biceps. Use this knowledge and actively control those muscles to avoid hyperextension. Step 2 again is not to push too hard too fast. If you push excessively hard your muscles resist and the joints receive unnecessarily high amounts of pressure. Once you get more flexible your body allows you to go deeper and there is less pressure. Advance slowly!

Why am I flexible in all joints of my body but I can't do straddle splits? 😢
@CoachBachmann Жыл бұрын
Well. Difficult to say whats going on without actually seeing your splits but Have you tried to actually consistently train for your straddle? If you are used to simply being flexible it might be possible you have never experienced getting flexible?!
@AmeliaCrafter Жыл бұрын
Yes, i have never started a consistent training on it because of how difficult it results to me to do it (which is exactly why i should do it right? 😅) thanks for your repply!
