In 1925, while a political prisoner of Mussolini, the communist intellectual Antonio Gramsci wrote "Prison Notebooks," a book that, since its publication in 1948, would become a true manual of action for all leftist movements around the world. Gramsci, who was quite an intelligent and obviously educated man, knew that Fascism, in spite of being a political adversary, had its ideological roots in Marxism and shared many ideas with Communism (for those reading this who don't know, Fascism started off as a revisionism of Marx in the magazine "Hierarchy" published on a regular basis by socialists Benito Mussolini and Giovanni Gentile, and soon attracted intellectuals, artists and educators to the movement). Gramsci wondered why they (the fascists), being ideologically almost like close relatives, had won the heart of Italians while Communism had lost that battle. He came to the conclusion that it was due to the Duce's "cultural" strategy. It was then that Gramsci invited all the leftists to abandon armed struggle, the economic discourse, the obnoxious materialistic declamation, and instead do as Mussolini did: to create an epic, a feeling, to attack from culture, from education, stimulating political activism from all sectors of society, setting aside the old rich/poor dialectic, and instead inventing new antagonisms, even fictitious if necessary, and thus, eventually reach power by acclamation (as happened with Mussolini and Hitler) and not through armed revolution as occurred in the Soviet Union. Gramsci himself said: "We will be the dominant class (the communists) as long as we manage to create a system of class alliances that allows us to mobilize the majority of the population against capitalism." And what better than to create false oppressions and fake victimhoods, and then propose yourself as the solution (from the State) to those false struggles, so to unite a vast majority behind you What we see today with the artificial antagonisms of man/woman, hetero/gay, white/black, Western/indigenous; and everything else, is nothing but the expression of Gramscian Marxism that took the anarcho-syndicalism of the Duce as a reference, this time applying it to the properties of human identity. Today’s radical left woke movement is, by far, the most perverse thing, from an intellectual and political standpoint, that our world has ever seen and is meant to destroy the foundations not only of Western civilization, but of Reason, intelligence and everything that made humans, humans. The longing Marxist goal finally achieved: the creation of the HOMO NOVUS (the new human being). Leftist intellectuals really behind this, who date back from Gramsci's time (School of Frankfurt) but increased that demented plan exponentially since the Postmodern French from the 60's, have known perfectly what they go for and have had a deeply perverse and twisted mind to pursue it. Unfortunately, activists on the streets, students, media and even many politicians and professors who promote the leftist mantra are simple Indoctrinated tools, unware sheep collaborating with the destruction of humanity, them included.

That is not quite the definition of socialism. This makes it easier to oppose, which is the lowest form of trick from a politician: the strawman. Socialism is just putting the means of production in the hands of workers, which could be public, state, government or even union-centered. This also means the weakening of the power of capital, which is OP in a capitalist economy, and we see this ends up with the concentration of wealth.
@pa4510

You are totally wrong. If you want to know about Socialism and its ideological ethos, don't get your education from wikipedia, but instead read directly from his main intellectuals, starting by Marx and what he expected for Socialism to be. It's exactly what Axel says.

@@pa4510 Marxism and Socialism are not the same thing dude. Also getting your definitions from a right wing fundamentalist is falling into the same trap you are warning against.
@pa4510
@pa4510 3 ай бұрын
@@foroparapente Of course are not the same thing. Just like a church is not the same as a mass. But both are certainly intertwined and one couldn’t be without the other. Marxism is a broad philosophical project with impact on many disciplines of knowledge; actually, a material approach to reality and a dialectic method for interpretation of History. Socialism, meanwhile, corresponds only to the political/economical front of Marxism, proposed (by Marx himself) as the intermediate phase (which could last years, decades or even centuries) before reaching Communism. That’s why Socialism is intrinsically centralized controlled economy, high tax rates, multiple regulations on the market and a heavy intervention from the State on people’s free will, even intimate life, in order to move “the fence” forewards, as to achieve a magnanimous centralized form of government. The reason why Communists and Socialists have historically argued is because the ladder tend to feel comfortable in that "intermediate" phase, becoming rich out of government expenditure and out of making deals with corporations creating a phony capitalism, a counterfeit project, seeming to care less about advancing de communist original plan. So every now and then a hardcore Communist intellectual comes to remind socialists the real “raison d'être” of Socialism, which in essence should be nothing but a pass to Communism within democracy. I didn’t learn that from Kaiser. I, myself, was a far left scholar in my younger years. Thanks God not into that labyrinth of falsehood anymore. I’m also son to one keen intellectual who collaborated with Allende during his Socio/Communist regime. So I know, not only by books but by facts, of what I’m talking about. There’s a lot of obscure motives behind Socialism and a very pernicious theoretical foundation that gave birth to it. All philosophical, political, cultural and social movements derived from Marx (socialism included) are not only a false approach to problems in society and a wrong prescription to solve them, which always would take a form as tyranny, but also a pernicious set of ideologies that erode real intelligence and mankind. Stay away from them.
@foroparapente
@foroparapente 3 ай бұрын
@@pa4510 You claim an impressive history but you are not the final word on socialism, you do have a few inaccuracies, particularly the invasion of private and intimate life, you seem to be trying to conflate it with totalitarianism, which of course has problems all its own, as we saw from the far right totalitarian government of Pinochet. Socialism is not a path to communism. The rest is pretty accurate though. Thanks for the discussion but try to not think of this as an "us vs them" but rather as one more approach to take good things out of them.
@pa4510
@pa4510 3 ай бұрын
@@foroparapente I also thank the interaction. Socialism is, technically, a path to Communism. As expressed by Marx, Communism is, being rigorous with definitions, not an ideology nor a political organization, but an economical model, a “place” (what literary critics would consider a “Utopia” in a thomas-morish-fashion), a pseudo paradise were private property doesn’t exist and all means of production are in hands of the State, ruled by the dictatorship of the proletariat. And the practical tool to reach that “heaven” would be Socialism, which would articulate, through politics, the favorable conditions to walk that journey. Don’t forget that Marx wrongly prophesied that the Communist Revolution would be first carried out by the bourgeoisie against the aristocracy, and after that would finally come proletariat against bourgeoisie. Thus, Socialism would be key for that “stage of History”. Unfortunately for the dialectical materialist believers, Marx failed completely in his prophesies: Capitalism by the end of 19th century was not agonizing, did not make workers exponentially poorer (on the contrary, standards of living kept on improving worldwide), and the first Communist revolution (Czarist Russia/Soviet Union) did not occur in an industrialized capitalist country, nor was it accomplished by intermediates but directly by Bolshevik proletariat. With that obvious failure in mind, revisionism on Marx’s theories occurred massively in the first decades of the 20th century, and some started to propose that Socialism might not necessarily be a bridge or a political approach towards Communism, but rather an ideological entity that could exist all in itself (being Mussolini one of them: fond of Marxist theories, sworn anti-capitalist, but serious antagonist of Communists divisive strategies and, above all, skeptical of the strictly material definition of being, proposed by Marx). Some prominent intellectuals of the time, not necessarily “right wingers”, but even liberals like Benedetto Croce also abided the separate-entities theory. Needless to say that years later, after proven all the horrors committed in the Soviet Union and the countries under her rule, Western leftist socialists rushed to whitewash their image and started rewriting their own history (coming even to the absurd as to say that the first (good) “socialist” would have been Thomas Jefferson, as you can see in wikipedia or other documentation of the lowest educational sort. Or the constant denial of Fascism and Nazism as socialist branches derived indirectly from Marx). However, and here’s the key of all, and important revival of the linkage and usability of Socialism in benefit of the communist goal aroused in 1948 (and increased from mid 70’s onward): the publication of “Prison Notebooks”, by Antonio Gramsci. The communist intellectual, whom could be considered the founder of current “Cultural” Marxism, instructed the Marxists in the world to renounce the armed struggle, the economical discourse, the old rich/poor dialectics and the short term revolutions, to instead replace them with new antagonisms (extreme thesis-antithesis), fake if necessary, within a culture. In order to achieve a “cultural hegemony” that would permeate (inside a democracy and by a slow process) the road to Communism, Socialism would be paramount. This time, not in the old fashion of open political expression (Socialists explicitly defending communist ideas. Oh, no way), but rather Socialists working from culture, from academia, from education. The inception of egalitarian ideas, hate for the rich, praise for the State, group identity over the traits of individual character, skepticism over objective reasoning, predominance of sentiments and passions, the reduction of all human interactions to an abstract dialectic oppressed/oppressor, and presenting the State, the law, as the potential savior of that pseudo oppressed category. The obsession for language and the relativeness of meaning, the instauration of a constant chaos in human psique. And of course, for the Communists to blend with the Socialists, to abandon the labor unions and start inhabiting the academia. You see, Gramsci’s claim, like many other fundamental leftists, is that communist political regimes never work and must exercise tyranny because the people who are applied to are, in nature, the same human beings who have always lived without it. So, he pointed out Marx’s error at assuming a change of Economics would result in a change of culture, thus finally a New Man (Homo Novus) would arise. Gramsci then, was much more ambitious and inverted the formula: make the Homo Novus first, and finally apply Communist model when there could not be any rejection and even people would voluntarily come to it. Marx political front was economical; Gramsci’s, anthropological. Nowadays, many Socialists know exactly what they are doing, others just play the same old enrichment through fiscal treasure and couldn’t care less about Communists, and others are simply unaware stubborn egalitarians with no bad intentions, but with such a poor education on their own ideology, fed with so much whitewashing propaganda, and with such a lack of knowledge on history and human nature, that have no idea how themselves are being used to accomplish the most evil Marxist dream of them all. Whether it’ll ever be achieved, who knows. All in all, it’s not a matter of “them or us”. It’s a matter that truth is truth, and evil, evil; no matter where it comes from. Believe me, everything I say I know it from the inside, not as a mere audience. Good talking to you.

Axel Kaiser is an excellent scholar and intellectual, but not a native English speaker, thus don’t expect from him to talk like your next door neighbor. Not because he wouldn’t want to, but because he’s not able to. Same happens when English speaking intellectuals try to express a complex idea in Spanish. They must get technical, otherwise risk missing the meaning of what they intend to say. To me, Axel sounded perfectly clear.
