Do you know what humidity/ tube temp setting would provide maximum humidity without causing rainout? I live in a very dry climate and the auto humidity setting is not enough humidity for me but when I try and use manual setting. I have a problem with Humidity, on a RESMED Air Sense 10 BIPAP. I/m using a Climate Line with O2 Nipple and 1 Liter of Oxygen. If I put it on auto I get too much Humidity. If I put it on manual and set Humanity to 1 with a hose temperature of 70 I get too much and my sinuses clog up. If I turn off humidity and leave the hose temp to 70 I don't get enough humidity, but my sinuses open up but I get a little dry. What do I do?

When I run it on 4 I wake up with a bone dry mouth, it takes 10 or so seconds to get moisture back and my mouth feels numb...not cool... when I raise it to 5 or 6 my water reservoir runs out after 3-4 hrs.... and I have to refill in the middle of the night...what gives?

same sort of thing for me. always get dry, it's a low setting im dry and theres water still in the chamber. if it's a high setting, the chamber empties right sway and im super dry. I don't understand why they dont make a bigger reservoir which would likely solve the problem of dry out

@@derekd4221 a lot has changed for me in 2 months.. I gradually dropped my pressure from 15 to like 9.2 and turned epr up to 2 or 3 so that it doesn't blow air into my mouth the second I stop breathing out... when I started I thought "oh dry mouth let me crank up humidity" but ultimately a pressure of 15(esp with no epr)is just unsustainable, way to much air going down your throat. I basically decided I'd rather have an api of under 3 than have a super high air pressure. Good luck, keep fiddling.

I've only been using it for 2 weeks but I had to wait over 8 months to get my machine & I'm kinda dissapointed at the quality of sleep I've been getting, because I heard so many people tell me that this machine was going to change my life. So far it has, just not for the better😂. I'm having the same issues. They have my pressure set on 12.0 and I'm running out of water after 3 or 4 hours as well. My mouth and throat is still super dry even after using a whole tank of water. I plan on calling my Dr and seeing if they will turn it down a bit as I'm trying my best to commit to using the machine but if they can't turn it down then I'd rather die in my sleep than keep dealing with this thing lol.

I ran on 4 and felt like the Sahara Desert. I was told by provider to put to 5 and turn my heat up. Now I have condensation in my mask. So I called my sleep doctor and his respiratory specialist told me to turn the temp down to what my ambient room temperature is…. Is this… a good idea? I’m waking up feeling croupy and having issue breathing easily. I’m afraid of getting pneumonia but I’m also worried my teeth will begin to chip if I have such dry air.

Ambient room conditions are a good starting point. I am assuming if you are seeing temps that you are using a heated hose right? The heated hose is a key in that deal.

That is kinda weird. The humidity setting should be there unless it has been disabled somehow. Maybe check in the clinical menu.

You might could increase the humidity level, but it mostly has to do with your room temp. The CPAP is moving your room air and you might want to increase your room temp a bit.

Hi....very useful. But dryness continues even at 8. Could it be a malfunction in tge humidifier? The starting panel when the machine is running shows the setting and the humidifier icon in RED, not green like the other icons. Is that normal? Thanks

It preheats the water in the chamber so that it is operating at full humidity as soon as you turn it on. It is good for people in cool climates.

I think that you have an issue in that case. I would clean the connector on the heated tube plug and try again. If that doesn't work you should try a new tube. Link Below. If the airsense 10 with a heated tube is set to auto climate that sets humidity to a 4 so in order to have humidity more than a 4 does it have to be on a manual setting? Everytime I change it to 6 then put back on auto and look it is back to 4

So it appears that I need a climate control hose vs the standard that I currently have. I notice condensation or water drip on me in the the sleep cycle. I however do not have an option to increase the tube temp. But it appears that if I get a climate control hose, that option will appear on my settings. Is this correct? Hi, I have extreme dry mouth and are having a difficult time getting it to stop. I’m up to 7 but it’s not taking care of it all what is your suggestion? Smart start is the Auto on feature. It turns the CPAP on when you put your mask on. Humidifier setting is very different for everyone. Turn it up if you are dry and turn it down if you are getting condensation.

81 and level 4 is the default for AUTO is what ive been told. each degress you raise the temp you raise the humidity level.

I've been having trouble with my airsense 10, it hasn’t been wanting to blow out warmer air. The cold air has been hurting my throat. How can I fix this? Do I need a new machine?

You can try increasing the humidifier setting, but it is not built to warm the air. The only warmer is on the water chamber and it is built to heat the water slightly allowing more of the water to evaporate. So the only real way of heating the air you are breathing is by warming your room via air conditioning. The air coming through your CPAP will be close to the temp of your room.

Is there a way to set temperature when using standard hose and humidifier? What is default temp with standard hose I’m newly adding humidification to my resmed 10. Have used without humidifier for years, but now having nasal symptoms. - stuffed face, runny nose, sneezing -intermittently but for a week or two when it happens. Seems dry nose….

You can not adjust a tube temp without having the heated hose. You can adjust the humidity setting though.

I'm not sure what to do but I have noes bleeds. The nurse gave me this video to watch and I still have no clue. I turned the humidity up by 6 and tub to 82. At this point I'll just get a humidifier and have it beside me at night.

I would max out the humidity setting on your CPAP. Adding a room humidifier would not hurt.

@@CPAPmyway I made the adjustments but my full face mask that covers my mouth and has holes for my nose started leaking. I had plenty of water in the tank but the mouth had additional water leaking out which has never happen on auto. I switched back to auto and now I have dry mouth and back to nose bleeds. Ugh

My machine runs out of water every single night and I am only setting it on 4. I want it on 8 but if I put it on 8 it runs out in about 3-4 hours!?! Then I have to set.an alarm to get up in the middle of the night to refill it. So I put it on 4 which leaves me excessively dry, waking up like 10 times a night.with my gums glued together and still it runs out of water about.2 hours before I need to get up!?! I am beyond disappointed in my new machine and am missing my old Devliss. I can only assume the person who designed this water.chamber is not a PAP wearer. And it stinks when it runs out of water and gives me a horrible headache.

@@CPAPmyway Since the humidifier just clicks in, you would think they could make a bigger one - it needs at least TWICE the amount of water it currently allows. I was so excited to get my new machine, but now getting SO much LESS SLEEP than ever before. And I have sinus headaches every day from only being able to put it on 4. SO, it is a double whammy. I just want to cry and am so sleep deprived I am vibrating internally. I have been wearing a machine for over 10 years. So when they say they are working on it, would it be in my BIPAPS lifetime? I have tried the heated tube, which stinks AND didn't work, so when back to the regular slimline. I will look for your videos. Thanks!
