I’ve been struggling with the split clear tubing to protect the net hoop. It kinks and the zip ties cause the net to hang up. I’M WONDERING… Is the tubing necessary with a mono rail (net goes inside the hoop) net hoop? It seems the hoop itself will protect the net. What say you? I don’t like the deep pocket in the net bag. May try to sew it in order the reduce the depth. By-the-way - The ShurHold shrimp and minnow net is great!

I only use the tubing to protect the exposed net, if the net is inside the hoop - then there shouldn’t be an issue

Very good video! I bought the Shurhold 9’ pole and the recommended shrimp net. When the net came in I was surprised to see how big the holes (mesh size) were. Most of our freshwater grass shrimp are extremely small. Will this net allow them to slip through? Another question - Since the net is enclosed inside the aluminum tube, is the tubing around the rim to protect the aluminum? Thanks…

I haven’t seen many shrimp get thru in my experiences. The tubing is used to protect the net, it is susceptible to chaffing & tear without it

How did you get the clear hose to stay in position on the net? I used the same clear hose but had to hold it in position with a bunch of zip ties. Are the grass shrimp available in the winter? I was under the impression that grass shrimp (in my case fresh water) were caught mostly in warmer weather. I appreciate your help.

Easiest way to keep them alive get a ice pack put it on the bottom of the cooler. Cover that ice pack with wet newspaper, lay the shrimp on top. Every day spray some salt water on top of the shrimp.

Yes but they tend to be in shallow water, honestly it takes me less than 2 min to catch them. You may be better off just trying from land before you launch

Not worth freezing in my opinion. They are super brittle to begin with. I’ve never done well with dead or frozen shrimp
