I luv your vlogs and your channel but I must respectfully disagree with a few things.. I constantly catch bull reds in Galveston w an ugly stick rod and reel(Shakespeare) 20lb line with zoom plastics etc.... you don't have to have overpriced gear to catch big fish.. if they are biting they will bite.... does it increase your chances a little...maybe... but to me what's most important is rigging and baiting properly...not expensive gear...but I love the videos and learn a lot... keep em coming

Flats Class RIG! I have a neighbor up the bayou who uses this rig with great success. He still uses a 3way swivel too.

Would this work in the winter time or when fish seem to stack up in deeper water? I have mostly flats tackle, but we have a couple 10-18 ft dredge pockets that hold fish deep during certain times of the year. Not sure what's down there but this seems like it could work.

Alex Spanky I use the rig in either deep or shallow zones. And it’s effective throughout the year but it works best on spooky redfish.

How do you cast 40 inches of leader, connected to your braid line through those tiny eyelets at the rod’s end? A Bimini or uni wind pass?

I use the FG Knot to tie mono and fluorocarbon Leader to Braid.
