Love the Murphy's oil soap idea! I have typically used dawn dish detergent or my oils and acrylics and sometimes will lather cheap hair conditioner on them and let them sit with it on for a few hours. It works great!

I just put Murphy's Oil Soap in my Amazon cart. Thanks for the tip! I have been wondering if it's harmful for me to dump my water bucket down the drain in my kitchen sink since it's plastic. Looks like you are doing that. Have you ever experienced any problems doing that? My husband wondered if it could harden in the pipes and cause a buildup. I do it all the time, but am wondering if I need to stop? I love your videos so much! I appreciate all of your advice.

What if you are working with colors that contain toxic pigments like cobalt or cadmium metals? Since these are not only dangerous to our own health but also to the environment I guess it would not be right thing to wash and clean brushes in sink.

I think that's a great point to bring up! This is the only way I've ever cleaned my brushes and I don't know of another method other than it going down the drain unfortunately.

Sandi Hester I’m not familiar with water soluble media because last time I used water color or gouache I was in kindergarden, I wonder if is it possible to recycle and use the water that used for brush cleaning just like we do with turpentine, leave the jar for a while to allow pigments settle down in water and then pour clean water to another container and clean the residue pigments in the bottom of the jar. It works for oil paints and turpentine, I’m not sure if that also works for watercolor though :/ Ps: Love your videos and content by the way. You’re such a sweet and sincere lady and also your artwork is unique and amazing. Keep this good work going on! :)

@@burak5601 Burak, I think this is a GREAT idea!!! I'll try it for sure. I mainly paint in oil myself (except for my sketchbooks) but I wanted to cover all the different mediums and brushes for the video. Thanks for watching AND for taking time to comment and leave some great tips!!!!!
