👍✨👍I'm SO GLAD to hear it!! It's a good grocery item to buy, it keeps really well in the fridge until you're ready to make it. (I'm all about having yum food in the fridge whilst minimizing grocery runs)

Thank you!!! I bought the same bag at the Korean supermarket. When I opened it, I thought I had purchased the “wrong” type of seaweed (& not the kind served at Japanese & Korean restaurants)….and said “oh well”… and stuffed some in my mouth, then spit it right out cause it was saltyyyyyy 😅😅😅🫣🫣🫣🫣🤷🏻‍♀️ (my family is from the Caribbean, and at the moment I clearly had no common sense). Didn’t know it was loaded with salt and needed to be cooked a certain way, but this is quick and easy!

This is one my fave banchan, I'm so glad you like it too! I'd just rinse it and let it sit in water overnight so it's ready the next day. It's good to stock because it lasts so long, but yeah, you gotta soak and rinse for a long time before cooking 🤭

Thanks for your super nice comment! We bought 2 other seaweed products from the Korean grocery that I want to make a video on... but they've been sitting in the fridge for weeks now 😂... ya know, life. But on a positive note, now I know the stuff keeps well. They're like health foods just waiting patiently to be eaten lol,, unlike the containers of fresh greens that MUST BE EATEN in 3 days before turning to slimy 🙄.

Garlic keeps the vampires away!...aside from adding some great flavor! I like it raw with some hot chili paste.....Great when you grilling some meat on the table top grill.

Oh yeah you're a def fan hahaha I can handle maybe 4 slices raw garlic with Korean BBQ. Any more than that and my butt's feelin the fury the next day 🤭 I usually add some to the grill and eat them when they've charred a little ❤️✨

😁Glad you liked it! OPPA got it on sale at our local Asian grocery store- the brand is Green Pan but I see a similar one online from Cuisinart amzn.to/3qmjbaO that comes with a lid and the price is decent 👍.

i made this kind of on the fly , and it came out nasty , too salty
@OppaCooksHere
@OppaCooksHere 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, don't underestimate the amount of salt it's packaged in. Next on-the-fly attempt, I'd suggest leaving it to soak overnight and rinsing it really well. You should be able to have a taste when it's raw- if you cringe because of the salt, it needs more soaking. Try it again, it's delightfully crunchy!
@tKoQ
@tKoQ 2 жыл бұрын
@@OppaCooksHere so I took it out the package, gave it new water but left in container soaking in the refrigerator for 3 days. I rinsed few times, thought it was sufficient but it wasn't. i cooked garlic first, 2nd mistake. later added sesame oil. I also did not tear apart the thick pieces. lastly I ended up w really salty seaweed w burnt garlic. I failed miserably
@OppaCooksHere
@OppaCooksHere 2 жыл бұрын
Oh man that sounds brutal- I would not blame you if you never ended up trying this again, this would traumatize me for sure. But if you're braver than me and you do end up trying again- try washing the sh*t out of it when you first take it out of the packaging. I know taking that salty hunk out and soaking immediately is tempting but put it in the sink and like seriously scrub it with clean water. You shouldn't see any salt crystals at all. So after actively scrubbing it until water runs clear (like 3 mins), then soak it- it really shouldn't need more than a day then. Give it taste (it should taste salty - but not make your face do overly cringey things) then cook it. When you "cook" garlic first, make sure the heat is not on high. Cook only until lightly brown or becomes aromatic (your roommate asks from down the hall if you're cooking garlic). Then crank it up and cook it fast. Wishing you better luck next time!

@@OppaCooksHere the thing is thatmost of the time we do.not have too much time and if you are going to spend so much time peeling each garlic we give up and move on. You have very great receipies however showing les cutting just a few to give us the idea it will be perfect. Great recwipies anyways but I cannot see to the end.
